Brake Master Cylinder

Hi guys

I'm about to upgrade my pathetic RB20e brakes on the ceffie with some R32 gear. My question is, will the master cylinder be up to the job? Is it unit on an originally RB20e powered cefiro the same as that on an RB20det powered R32 or will i have to upgrade that as well?

skylines mc's were bm44 ..where as the rb20det ceffy had bm38 ........which i think is the same as the sr20det s13's ......mine pulls up fine .....not sure what the rb20e had..... check the side of ur mc for a number liek the one above

i still got my rb20de brake master cylinder and booster running r32gtst calipers. works fine, though doesnt feel as good as it did on my past r32 with the correct setup. i'm going to upgrade both the master cylinder and booster when i have the cash and time.

From what I have read it would be worthwhile doing, BM44 should be sweet, I upgraded mine and running GTR brakes at its fine. I think some people have experienced some saggyness with the smaller BM, but not everyone.

well im using a bm55 from a nissan leapod with a z32 master cylinder. My r32 brakes felt a bit spongy with the stock gear.

Any master cylinder with 3outlets can fit or you can use the Z32 and tap out the blank fitting hole.

Is the BM44 from a R32 or R33?

How difficult is it to change? I've never atempted it before.

Also with installing the R32 front brakes, is the fitting for the lines the same as the Cefiro or will i need to get the different fittings like i do for the rear?

Its interesting you say that replicate, i have a turbo A31, but still have the factory non turbo calipers, i have bought some r32 4 piston calipers and r33 nonturbo disks (4 stud) and i have tried fitting them.

However it seems as if the brake lines are slightly too short, also the brake lines do not want to stay seated, even with two copper crush washers the banjo bolt comes loose and creates a leak. Im going to purchase some R32 turbo brake lines to be on the safe side as they have the proper tapered fitting at the end and shouldnt come loose.
