hey guys,

im installing my blueline alarm, but am having trouble finding a good spot to mount the freaking siren!!

its a battery backup unit, and i cant find a secure spot to put it, without fabriacting some sort of bracket.

anyone got any good ideas??

i wanted to put it some where hard to get to, e.g to stop people from trying to smash it etc.

pics would be nice too

thanks

steve

the only place i can think of at the moment is to mount it behind the front bar on the right hand side when looking the car where the intercooler piping is but that can cause problems if you want to turn it off with the key. mine is near the battery

nah innner guard was waht I awas hinting at. dont worry about the key. make it a bitch to get at. as a marker the saab 900 has a second horn for the OEM alarm tucked UNDER the passenger guard. trust me its a BITCH to get at and disable.

So this is a non battery backup siren alarm, which would indicate that it is an entry level product (most higher models have battery backup sirens)

Anyway my point is, will this alarm be enough for this vehicle in the following areas

- ease of which the siren would be disabled

- insurance company approval ( aust standards state battery back up siren)

- does the alarm itself have all black wiring with no identifying marks

To me it seems pointless installing a non battery backup siren. Especially if the car is stolen or a theft attempt is made as the insurance will mostl ikely be voided by the insurance companys.
