Any one have an idea how to adjust the window runners?

Before the respray my window lined up nicely and the rubber was fine, after it tends to dig in to the top back corner of the rubber, that + the age of the rubber obviously it ripped almost instantly.

I've had a little look but there doesn't 'appear' to be any available adjustments. ;)

The way it is now if I throw a new rubber in its only going to rip it again.

door trim off, feck around with (by memory) 4 adjusters down the bottom of the door....

will have a look at the service manual

just rang nissan, they confirmed $220.

What's availability like (as I am sick of looking at the tear in mine)? Be interesting to see if we can get them for less from Adeliade.

BTW, who is your "glass guy" that has/will replace your front/rear windscreen rubbers?

f**k me.. I've spent around 6 hours trying to get my passenger window aligned properly.. I knew there must be a specific trick to it!

<kisses>

p.s. on the front/back windscreens.. O'briens is a rippoff. . I was quoted $180 labour just to replace one measly seal! And that was before they even found out which seal it actually was...

Each I assume? Was that to completely remove and reseat them though? Someone else mentioned to me it cost them around the $200 mark, so it might not be completely off base.

Edit: Also, from farking around with the rear windscreen, I can say its not as easy as it looks to remove. There is an outer covering rubber, corner pieces, an inner hook plastic (that the outer rubber hooks in to), then the actual sealant the window sits on. Its stupidly complex.

they are available in aus right now. the glass dude is a guy that my panel beater uses. dont know the guys name but he comes to the shop and is apparently the guru on removing screens and doing seals etc.

I would pay $200 all up i guess if that included the seal, but not $200 just in labour.. It couldn't take more than an hour's work by a professional.

It's not too hard to remove the outer seal, just shove the car in the sun for an hour and its nice and soft. Then lever off the top metal joiner, and lever each half off by pulling. It comes apart in two pieces.

My car doesn't actually have any rear outer seal at the moment. It's still pretty water-tight, even without a seal. To be honest I think it's more of a cosmetic thing, as my window doesn't look like it will fall out anytime soon going 100+ km/hr

apparently the rear screen is very hard to do without farking the seal... ylwgtr2 told me seeing that he pulled out mine...

*shrugs*

Yup. The outer rubber on mine was hard as rock (parking in the sun didn't soften it one iota) so it breaks as you pull it out. Moreover the hook it connects too is easy to rip.

btw i should ad those photos i took were in the dark, half sloshed and with my mobile phone so not too bad overall!

AND

damn i cant wait to get my car back with nice new seals and everything on the car pretty much new.

bl4ck32, did you try adelaide nissan with those part numbers ronin09 posted up? would be great to check with those numbers. if they are $120 each i will grab a pair no question.

I got factory front windscreen rubbers for $150 from Nissan for the whole set including all bits and pieces. Rear set was $400 each so i didnt bother buying that. Might look into this commodore rubbers business.

ooooh ... cat might be out of the bag after this post ...
