Oh dear.

Im sorry, but it sounds like you havent the faintest idea on what your actually doing so lets not blame the intercooler kit for your installation mishap.

That same kit has been fitted by many SAU members who havent had anywhere near the trouble you have.

If you arent comfortable or confident doing your own installation, dont be afraid to ask for help, preferrably before you have destroyed the front end of your car :D

Well The instruction on ebay said it requires basic, easy modifications and install time is 1-2 hours.. Perhaps some instructions would have been a good idea as well

The other thing is i dont want my car to look like a piece of crap.. Other wise i would just hack the shit out of it

I would venture to say that whoever designed the kit checked the piping matched up but didnt check that the core fit in behind the front bar.

Like 5 centimeters shorter would equal a hell of a lot less cutting of the front bar and would almost remove the need to cut the supports for the front kit off not to mention move all the wiring brackets and half remove the support for the bonnet latch. Perhaps they gave me the wrong kit or something. I shouldnt need to have a engineering degree to fit it really, I can do a ground up rebuild on a 69 chrysler which included plenty of welding and custom fabricating and make it look decent.. But its impossible to install a cooler on a 91 skyline that was made to fit it without hacking up the whole ffront end and compromising my safety... riiiiiiiiiiight..

everyone modifys there front bar...

i installed a just jap kit on my 32 the thing was fine.

no instructions required just a bit of nouse.

on a 32 with the just jap kit the only thing that needs modifying is the front bar, nothing else.

It was not made to fit it. Simple as that.

Gtrs have a fmic yes. They actually cut out a hole next to the battery tray in exactly the same spot as you have to. But they have a totally different front bar, with room for it. Also, the bonnet latch and everything is different. Different front bar support.

Of course the car will require modes to fit it. If you're not confident in doin git, then get a workshop to do it.

PM a guy called Mr G on the these forums. He does good work for cheap. He has installed many FMIC kits.

1-2 hours is a bit of an exageration. It would take me probably the good part of a day to do it, but that's because i'm picky.

    • Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.  I have a 2008 Japanese import V36 coupe with nav but without Bose. I bought one of those AliExpress android screens, which for the most part works really well.  The only thing that doesn't work is the air con controls (well sort of) and the factory reverse camera.  The AC can be controlled fine but it doesn't report the change in temp and mode to the screen, and the volume knob/other audio controls from the panel don't register on the learning app.  I am pretty certain that the problem is the difference in the head unit between base model (Nav but no Bose) 2007-2009 coupes and anything after 2009.  Mine is the one with the blue connector all the way to the right as seen in this forum post:  The reason I think this is there is one wire left over that doesn't fit anywhere on this head unit, or in the factory screen which also uses different connectors to more recent versions.  I've seen the upgrade from OWC, and have sent the guy a message on eBay but no response yet.  I also don't particularly need the whole kit, just *maybe* an adapter for this one cable.  Did anyone else here have the same problem, or have any insight about what I can do to get this working?  I have been in contact with the seller but all they seem to be able to do is ask for more pictures and videos. Minor edit to add:  I have been researching and found a screen on Aliexpress that actually specifies my head unit in the listing, so these things do exist.  I will contact the seller to see if the wiring adapters are interchangeable with other screens.   Thanks in advance!
