Even the Humble GTS 1 and 2 even had brake upgrades though. I am a firm believer in stopping power as well as pulling power. My Turbo R31 with 215 RWHP had the brake and suspension upgrade before I even drove it as a turbo car. Now 215 RWHP is not a lot by todays standards, but the standard suspension and brakes I believe are just not up to the job. GTS struts (Import or local, they are all the same), and some decent pads is all you really need for anything up to 200-250 RWHP.

i put a set of hr31 import struts, rotors and calipars on my GXE and it made a would of difference, i did use new rotors, pads, reco'd the calipars and master cylinder too though :)

i have a set of re-drilled r32 gts-t rotors and 4 pot calipars waiting to go on once the rb25det goes in this weekend, i'm looking forward to that stopping power....and the pulling power.... :)

go rb20det its a straight bolt up! the only wiring you have to do is temp sender, tacho, a plug on the passanger strut tower. then get an exhast piece made up that goes from teh turbo to the cat and get a mod plate

also you dont have to do the brakes, but for your own good do it as the standards are not very good (i have no idea why nissan used them in the first place)

rb30et is a piece of cake and gets quite good figures.

As for brakes, I run R33 gts-t 4 pots, tt300zx slotted rotors and custom pads.

I used to regularly do track sprints with a 170rwkw rb30t on stock sized brakes with EBC green stuff pads and xdrilled rotors all round, they did a pretty good job for what they were on the track.....but a spirited down hill drive through the mountains left em worse for wear!
