shit... just read about this on the 31 club forums.

my condelences to the family and friends of all involved, especially to those of the man that died,

no-one should have to pay such a high price for such a stupid mistake.

hope you have a speedy recovery drew.

i also hope this doesnt get turned into another anti import smear campaign.

hey Guys,

I'm sure we have all heard about the terrible events that took place today involving Drew and another three people. I just hope that Drew and the others involved make a speedy recovery, and my regards with the family of the driver of the green festiva. As i was in the car right behind Drew and seeing it first hand i hope we think about the ones we love and how in an instant it can all be gone, and hope we all take more care on the roads because we certainly dont wont anything like this happing again.

Hopefully everyone can make the effort to go see Drew sometime during the week, as he would if it was someone else in his situation.

All the best drew and the other people involved hope you all get well soon.

And to the driver of the green festiva may u Rest In Peace, and god be with you.

yeah word spreds fast especialy when talking about such a bad thing.

after the crash happened all the skylines parked and we all ran down to the crash. Everyone was trying to help everyone. I cant believe how good ppl work together in such a bad situation.

I want to thank everyone for caring so much.

RIP

yeah it was truly a miracle no other cars were involved, given there were around 10 cars in the vacinity all doing around 100km/h! As Chops said, it was very lucky that people were being sensible and leaving long following distances between cars (which hasn't always happened on previous cruises).

My condolences to Tony's family. May he RIP.

I will try to find out more about Drew's condition tomorrow, and will let you all know. Please pray for and think of him in his (and his family's) time of need.

Did anyone see him out of the car? I take it he didn't need to be cut out too much? I hope he didn't have broken ankles/feet, or bad cuts etc ... any info?

hey,

Yeah i saw drew get taken away, he got put on a stetcher and put into the helicopter.

The whole roof of the r33 had to be cut off to get him out. his head was a little messed up, lots of broozing around his eyes and he had a blood nose and a pretty badly cut lip. i am pretty sure he didnt have any broken legs or ny thing. i was looking after him before the amobo's came and all he wanted to do is make more room so he could move around. he had full movment of both his legs. and when i asked him where he had pain he said only his head.

he was able to talk to me fine when he came in and out of consioness.

a true hero.

awesome, I am very hard to hear that! I have been worrying about his legs all day.

It is true testament to how strong and safe Skylines are. The motor was easily pushing against the firewall, and the radiator etc was well and truly mashed into a lump of metal with the motor. I feared he was significantly trapped, the way the car was damaged. Hopefully his injuries are not serious at all. Yeah his face was a bit banged up when I was trying to talk with him (he had no idea where he was at that stage), but not too bad. The airbag definitely saved him a lot more pain. Let's hope it is a very speedy recovery for him.

Thank god! We have been worried about his legs all evening! last we saw was him being pulled from the wreckage after the roof was pulled off. all i can say is thank god it wasnt worse. lets hope there's no perminent damage and his recovery is swift! our thoughts are with him.

let us know where he is so we can go visit...

The only thing i saw wrong with his legs was a cut in his pants and a little graze.

I could be wrong he was fair out of it when i was talking to him but they seemed pretty damn good.

i cant stop thinking about when i was talking to him he lifted his head and asked me where he was. he was so confussed.

thats good news to hear about drew.......... pity was on his first skyline cruise.....

is any one organising to see him in hosiptal........ i am keen to see how he is doing and my heart goes out to troy's family at this great time of tragedy....

prayers and thoughts to all those involved..... well done to the guys at the scene for all the effort they put in... pats on the back all round

    • Here's one I help build and tuned a decade ago, Garrett  GTX3071R Gen 1, T3 twin scroll 0.83 rear housing. Went from larger 272 cams down to smaller Tomei Poncams to help with the low end. S13 non VCT motor. Car was purpose built for the track, hence low down was the focus. Note the actual dyno chart shows lower boost, however the EBC and boost gauge showed 1.9Bar (Ignore the torque, I was young and didn't know how to set derived torque)
    • I’m doing some side developments on SR20det S13 engines, its one my hobby cars used it to compare flow capacity of some smaller size wheels. SR20det is one of another JDM legendary engines I'm sure there are plenty of SR enthusiasts on this forum, I will share results some common turbo configurations here. a quick run down of what the car is: Wide body 180sx Type X with black top engine (blue). It has: Stock bottom end Haltech 1500 ECU 5-0 motorsports trigger kit Kelford SR20DET Beehive Spring with Titanium Retainers Kelford Cams SR20DET S13 188-B 268/272 Cams G25-660 Turbocharger in T2 .64 rear housing internally gated ARP Head studs MLS head gasket 1000CC ID injectors Walbro 450L Fuel pump Front mount cooler kit JJR’s 3 inches turbo back exhaust (its too short for the 180sx it had to be extended) Pump 98 fuel Hub Dyno tune So far made 270rwkws at 22psi full boost by 4500RPM. Engine is very knock limited hence a pretty bad looking top end. From previous experiences it seems like SR20dets are happier with bigger size turbine, some thing like a GT30 would make way better top end, but on same time response is lost. It won't be a problem with S15 VCT engines. I'll be testing alternative turbine housing, turbine wheel and possibly dump pipe options for extra flow to resolve the problem and of course E85 would resolve all the issues.
    • Awesome writeup and details. Thanks for sharing the story so far. I can relate to parts of it with my previous car and some of the issues I had to deal with.
    • Wow the colour matched hard top completely transforms the car. Are there any nice front lip options for the car or is that off the table?
    • Generally yes but for some reason I've been ruthless this time around!  I might even need to do another tip run after the way I've finally been able to hit the delete button on shit I've stepped over, stepped around and tripped over for the past 10 years!
