The other day i cleaned my AFM with contact cleaner and it has made my fuel consumption increase.

Can i lean out the mixture using the stock ecu?

You have kinda answered your own problem IMO.

If you cleaned the AFM correctly, and reconnected it correctly, there should not be a decrease in fuel consupmtion.

im running this through my mind at the moment and if the AFM was dirty, it would be registering less air.

But by the same token it would still be trying to achieve the correct mixture no matter what the AFM's state is...

So if my brain is still functioning at this late hour of the day (and i stress IF as im horridly tired)... you've either damaged the AFM, or its not connected correctly.

i got slightly better fuel economy by going back to the panel. cos the pod was sucking in hot air i think.
