How would an Active-LSD differ?

Recommended Posts

Guest one8tee

My newly acquired Series 2 R33 GTS-t has this Active-LSD thingy, I gathered from surfing around that it's not very common in R33s.

I lifted this off from Meggala's site:

The active LSD is not an option but rather a different model of GTS25t, the A-LSD is NOT a Nismo option, ALL SII GTS25t's have LSD's either active or standard

so what are the characteristics of this Active versus the standard LSD?

cheers

It is the same as a VSPEC diff, hence why I'm called GTS-t VSPEC:D

I believe it has a hydraulic pump that can vary the amount of slip between the rear wheels, which will allow the car to turn sharp corners at speed more effectively.

You should feel the effect if you take a corner fast, the rear end suddenly helps align the car.

See'ya:burnout:

ummm ok.. right - I've got the HICAS light happening down in the spot just near the 180km/hr mark on the speedo (see PVA's pic above) but what I'm asking is what does the HICAS mean - is it 4WS or active diff or both?

Or has someone just put too much acid in my skotch?
