James, the WRX guys are meeting at 6:20pm at STi @docklands if you want to join us for the drive around to Donnybrook.

Just a thought, what are people doing for food?

Do you mind if I tag along please? I only live 2 mins around the corner in Port Melbourne.

Was sat with a rex STI 9 all the way from my work exit in Dandenong to Kings Way last night. Passed about 5 other rexes and a clone of my car. Bizzare Subaru journey. :D

Age - I'll meet you at Donnybrook. Can you guys stop in - or give me a call when you getting closer?

Saff - We don't stop until Shepparton, so either grab something earlier or put up with the truckstop food. I reccommend the former :D

Yeah no worries Jame...i'll call you or Ash. We are planning to meet you all anyway, and cruise up togther.

Saff

No worries....see you at STi@docklands. We'll be there from 6:15, and we leave at 6:30 for the casual cruise to Donnybrook. We are thinking of stopping for Maccas on the ring road.

I'll be in a dark gunmetal new suzuki swift.

AGE Thanks mate, will be driving a blue liberty with SAU stickers. Just waiting to hear back from Mav as to what time he can get out of work so will let you know either way whether we will make it or not.

Jam No worries, thanks for the info. :)

    • Yea my question was really relating to having a big stall converter and it's interaction with that. Why would BMW not just put a 5500 stall converter in there stock then? Then the OEM car could just launch control hard.
    • If you fully flushed and filled it's probably good for 5 years. I would not push it any further than that. Generally speaking coolant is more by time than by mileage. Rust wants to happen whether you're driving it 50,000 km or 80,000 km.
    • Modern transmissions like the 8HP lock up as low as ~12 km/h. And they will stay locked even with full throttle in gear. Far, far cry from the days of 3/4/5 speed automatics when they only locked up on overdrive gears and even then only if you didn't put too much torque through it. Manual transmissions are pointless unless you personally enjoy shifting gears.
    • I read on YouTube that the neo has 2 bleeder valves? Can't see anything in the manual though
    • The only other time I changed it is when I noticed it had become discoloured after a few track days (it was .. yellowish). So I drained and refilled the rad.  I think most people are in this situation. It's not like the car ran any cooler after I changed the coolant either. I'm gonna go with "If it makes you feel better, change it!"
