For anyone interested.

Apollo Bay - 23rd March

Location/Time: **will put this in depending on if/who is coming**

I'll be getting my car back hopefully friday and the following weekend i'm going down to Apollo Bay for a quick look/scout at some more good spots for Photo's.

As most Vic would have seen... the Harbour area was great but there are about 3-4 other places at least in Apollo Bay i know of.

And i wanna check 'em out as i think there are some maybe even better spots.

That way we can make a HUGE cruise/photo meet on weekend, but the homework has to be done first.

Anyone who want's to come for a trip down again, it won't be a whole day thing as the 10th was... prob round trip of 7 hours as opposed to 10-11. And i'm trying to time it so there will be less traffic/more harder driving (such is what i go donw there for)

I have a house at Skenes Creek (10 mins before apollo bay) and we'll prob stop there for a BBQ/refresments before going home via otways/more photo locations.

Sounds good, i will be in for that. If it is only a scouting trip why doen't we car pool, we could take my car or if you prefer i could come with you.

Oops re-read your message, i guess you want to open her up. If there isn't too many people i would be glad to cruise in your car. If a few people come i will also take my car.

Keep in touch

Alan

Yeah... i'm going either way...

So i'm just seeing if people wouldn't mind coming if they aren't busy n stuff.

I loved the looks all the sky's got when we got to Apollo Bay last time

AL.... i've got a mate coming with me and i only want the one passenger... as i'll be... ummm, moving at a fair pace you could say, no offence or nothing :D

For those that know my car, she'll get a fair beating that day as i LOVE to push it.

Just post it up if ya can make it... but this will be a weather permitting event.

If it's raining i wont be going, not going to risk it with this car

NO OFFENCE TAKEN (i clearly understand :P)

So it looks like my car is going for another run. I see if my mate Mal wants to come again or maybe another mate, as it may be a bit boring by myself.

So far the date looks good. We keep in touch.

Hay just a thought, Mal may want to through around his Cappa, since this is not an offical Sky cruize.  Nothing like doin 90-100 clicks around bends, with the roof off in a car smaller than a mini.:(

yeh! get him to come. I was telling him on the day that he should bring it down one day. Cappa's are way cool :)

If he comes i'll have one more reason to come down on the day.

I wanna sit in it while he hammers it around the place ;)

Sorry bud, no room. It's only a 2 seater and i have called shot gun. :uh-huh: :D

Phoned him today, he said that he would be very iterested in coming.

Other than that i don't care what cars come along....

But will they keep up :) LOL

You may be supprised (sp?) it has a bit of go, and alot of handling.

But against a car with the heart of a R33 (that's what it takes to get some real go! :P j/k) he will be pushin it, AND trust me he WILL be pushin it (not in the litual (sp?) sense :)).

.... and a car the weighs in about 300 kg's lighter..... :D

heheeh !

i can't wait to see this little thing tear round the corners :D

Unfortunately something has come up on the 23rd, something that Mal and i have been looking forward to and may be helping out with.

On Sunday the 23rd, Calder Park management are running a "SOOPA CRUIZE". Basically a rip off of the summer nats. See attachment below:

Sorry about the late notice, but i only got this the day i posted my last message. If you want/can prospone the scouting cruise for another day (as i would still like to go on the GOR again) and come to Calder Park. The day should be MAD! (weather permitting).

    • You've just discovered a really good reason to tell yourself, yes, I do need to buy an aftermarket ECU. Put the MAF in the bin. Slap in the new ECU and have a think about what turbo sounds you prefer.  Do you want a 90's style BOV wooosh? Do you want a hektik tsututututu?  Mate, can't go wrong. Just gotta get that ECU and the world is your oyster.
    • Hi. Iam just curisou about this topic. I saw this video. It is about Greddy Type FV2. I know that BoVs are about that sound but how and when to use it? I read some topic here and from what i have understand on stock RB with MAF there will be some "problems" if you use this BoV? It vents the air in to the atmosphere and the MAF on stock car needs this air back in to the intake and not out? Or is it wrong? If so...i saw you can put some adaptor to circule air back...but does that not "loose" that sound? I saw another BoV from Turbosmart and it has two "exhaust" like ports? One is for the stock tubing for letting air back and one is for "sound" and let the air in the atmosphere? Can someone please explain? This is the Greddy one:  And this is the Turbosmart.     THANK YOU!! EDIT: So i read about this topic some more and i if i understand that correctly: That Greddy can function either like BoV or 100% Bypass valve? And that Turbosmart is what they called hybrid so you can adjust what and how many air can be vented out or back in? Is this right? THX!
    • That dirty voltage drop is the culprit I suspect
    • i cant get them all in 1 screenshot unfortunately as i just dont know how to move things around tbh, but they are all from the same log and the line crosses at the same point for all of them
    • It's about time I start work on my sun tan. So I knocked up a few parts that will all combine together to become my new power steering reservoir. Now just to produce an abundance of UV and IR rays while melting a heap of bits of alu to become one... Well, that's after I put one more hole in it for the return line to plumb to. It likely won't be this weekend, as Sunday I'm meant to be in doing some last minute stuff to the AMG race car, and the weekend after will be filled with non my Skyline stuff, followed by Bathurst 6 hour. So I don't expect to get to melt metal for at least 3 weeks.   I also managed to stuff up and start cutting the hole for the res to pump pipe on the wrong side of the line... It means instead of the lines being nice and tight against the inner guard, they'll be out off the guard.    The size of it means I should end up with about 1.8L of power steering fluid, and still have space for another half a litre before it reaches the overflow/breather. This is wayyyyyyy more capacity than factory, which should help keep Powersteer oil temps lower, and the design hopefully allows it to prevent any aerated oil being able to makes its way down to the bottom as it'll have a couple of baffles and some hopeful trickery to force air bubbles away from the bottom.
