yeah im gonna keep the stocko one, but il just wanna geta hi flow one to replace the standard one anyway. i just wanna keep it all legal. i mean really im not at the point withthe car that the flow is gonna be affected that much with a hi flow cat there or bash out one. it doesnt really matter to me.

haha thats gold

i must ask, y do you want the entire exhaust system stainless? i mean its not like itll be seen at all

well the car came with a kakimoto cat back stainless exhuast on it, and now i have just got a front pipe and dump pipe that are stainless also, so all i have to get now is a cat, so why not just make it stainless aswell. to finish off the exhuast

I had no choice for my exhaust modifications.. Andrew had the car one day and came to pick me up from work and it was like 10 times louder.

yeah i have seen ppl put a straight thru pipe into a cat and weld it on so it looks like a cats there. im just trying to think how different it will sound with a fullsystem. so far ive managed to get away with thefront pipe and dump pipe all in stainless for $200

fair point

i picked up my new bottom end today :)

will be pulling out the 26 tomorrow and pull the head off to see what actually let go in it. then the 26 head and 30 bottom end are off to JHH next saturday to be built (fingers crossed nothing goes wrong)

if all goes to plan itll be back on the road in 3 weeks time, making some big numbers ;)

Is it worth spending that much money though on something that will do the same thing as something cheaper?

Is there really any benefit in getting a stainless one? Is it less restrictive?... Gains more power?... Not much difference at all.. just looks shiney?

id say there is no difference between stainless and mild steel, it just wont rust out, but since i have the system all the way from turbo to bumper in stainless, why not just get a cat to go with it. plus if i got one without a flange, i dunno if they can weld stainless to mild steel or not?? im not sure on that one.....

yep broke a few weeks ago whilst i was going to go for a drive with ben & dale

starting knocking at the toowong roundabout, turned around and made it home, knocks like crazy now though. we think its bearing related, find out for sure tomorrow :)

managed to pick up a recently rebuilt (200kms on it hone marks in bores still present) 30 bottom end with forged pistons (20 thou over) n1 oil pump, for $650 hehehe

so are they gonna bore it out then put over sized pistons in it???

nah thats already been done, just need forged rods, decent bearings. heads getting ported, exhaust side ports are getting re-profiled, whole thing balanced, sump being modified with a trust enlarged sump, oil galleries being fixed up appropriately for track work etc etc

yeh it should pull pretty good ;)

i only brought the stocko engine onto boost twice! i drove it back from newcastle off boost the whole way caus the clutch was stuffed that bad, then after putting the clutch in i smacked it side on into a gutter bending the left rear control arm, then the sat i got that fixed the engine let go

going to leave the stock turbos on for awhile and see what power i can get out of them, then i'll go the gtrs's :P
