its all practical shanef so how does it justify the ricer tag????

And no i didn't get an N1 water pump as the rb30 water pump flows the same and is a bucket load cheaper :D but I did get an N1 oil pump (thanks Slide)

but dont the N1's have a different blade design that aides in anti-caviation?

and bs its 'pratical', with everything on the motor, ur not gonna tell where u have an oil leak caus ull hardly be able to see the block! (with the engine in the car)

yes I went eagles the H beam ones there is nothing wrong with them many other people I know have used them before and not had any problems. And its not as if I will be driving the car hard I respect it too much to drive it unnecessarily hard.

Bloody Hell Shane, give it a rest, you take the piss out of everyone's car, parts or results and I have yet to see you in your own vehicle. So some people have "seen" your car, big deal. Was it running?? Did it lay down a quick quarter time?? Does it get good mileage??

You are young, so I have cut you some slack, but enough is enough. Get the unicorn on the road and prove yourself a capable steerer and then maybe you can cut loose on some of us. Until then, shut the fcuk up!!

u love ur haltech that much :D

it'll be on the street when its finished, until then i dont see why i cant talk crap and stir people up, caus in the end its all light harted fun, and if some ppl arc up then so be it.

im just sharing my view of it all, and if i didnt critisise (sp) things, people would go through with things thinking everything is all good, when it coulda been done another way, cheaper and/or better

You do nothing BUT critisise though. Your opinion is not automatically correct. You seem to think your vast years of knowledge have given you the right to tell everyone and anyone how they should build their car. If everyone followed your lead we would all be looking in our yard at our cars instead of driving them.

yes criticism is good but positive feed back is appreciated as it means somone has taken the time to modify their car from factory to better suit their tastes. Now this may mean that it doesn't suit your taste but doesn't give you free rein to shoot as many holes as possible in their setup. have a look how you present your arguments as sometimes they are percieved as a hostile rather than a gentle nudge.

I haven't got a massive bank account and have talked to many others to find the best setup I can that fits the bank balance and tastes. I eventually want to show my car as this has been an ambition of mine for many years.

what would you have done different with his engine anyway shane??

and what is wrong with eagle H beam rods??

i quite like a engine with a bit of bling on it, look scleaner and tidier, plus stuff like anodised oil caps etc add to visuals of the engine bay.

we are not saying that your opinions have to change or are not appreciated but they are exactly that your opinions. Other people will have different view points and different wants and needs and as a community we respect each others views whilst trying not to trample their ideas into the ground.

Well, you can change or someone will snot you for being a smart arse!!

I find that people like you either change or get ostracised out of the group. Get along or get out.

I'm not saying you will get belted and it won't be me, but your attitude sucks.

Back it up with some deeds or back off. Your choice.......

And Troy, you are too nice. Tell it like it is!!

eagles arent as strong as some others (like Pauter for instance) and u wont be able to rev them as high (well so ive been told)

lol so every 'smart ass' in the world gets snotted and gets sidelined from groups, yeah id believe that. maybe its ur attitude that needs looking at?

Fine, go ahead, my faults are an open book, but at least I try and behave as my peers would want me to.

That is what friends are all about. You gravitate to a group who are like-minded individuals.

Maybe you weren't so innocent when you got "mugged"????

    • The engine stuff is Greg Autism to the Max. I contacted Tony Mamo previously from AFR who went off to make his own company to further refine AFR heads. He is a wizard in US LS world. Pretty much the best person on earth who will sell you things he's done weird wizard magic to. The cam spec is not too different. I have a 232/234 .600/603 lift, 114LSA cam currently. The new one is 227/233 .638 .634. The 1.8 ratio roller rockers will effectively push this cam into the ~.670 range. These also get Mamo'ified to be drilled out and tapped to use a 10mm bolt over an 8mm for better stability. This is what lead to the cam being specced. The plan is to run it to 6800. (6600 currently). The Johnson lifters are to maintain proper lift at heavy use which is something the LS7's supposedly fail at and lose a bit of pressure, robbing you of lift at higher RPM. Hollow stem valves for better, well everything, Valve train control. I dunno. Hollow is better. The valves are also not on a standard valve angle. Compression ratio is going from 10.6 to 11.3. The cam is smaller, but also not really... The cam was specced when I generated a chart where I counted the frames of a lap video I had and noted how much of the time in % I spent at what RPM while on track at Sandown. The current cam/heads are a bit mismatched, the standard LS1 heads are the restriction to power, which is why everyone CNC's them to get a pretty solid improvement. Most of the difference between LS1->LS2->LS3 is really just better stock heads. The current cam is falling over about 600rpm earlier than it 'should' given the rest of my current setup. CNC'ing heads closes the gap with regards to heads. Aftermarket heads eliminate the gap and go further. The MMS heads go even further than that, and the heads I have in the box could quite easily be bolted to a 7.0 427ci or 454 and not be any restriction at all. Tony Mamo previously worked with AFR, designed new heads from scratch then eventually founded his own business. There he takes the AFR items and performs further wizardry, CNC'ing them and then manually porting the result. He also ports the FAST102 composite manifold: Before and after There's also an improved racing crank scraper and windage tray. Helps to keep oil in the pan. Supposedly gains 2% power. Tony also ports Melling oil pumps, so you get more oil pressure down low at idle, and the same as what you want up top thanks to a suitable relief spring. There's also the timing chain kit with a Torrington bearing to make sure the cam doesn't have any thrust. Yes I'll post a before and after when it all eventually goes together. It'll probably make 2kw more than a setup that would be $15,000 cheaper :p
    • Because the cars wheels are on blocks, you slide under the car.   Pretty much all the bolts you touched should have been put in, but not fully torque up.   Back them off a turn or two, and then tighten them up from under the car with the wheels sitting on the blocks holding car up in the air.
