dude i'll give you till monday and no i aint running it down no drags. mate with the power i have and the set up i am very sure i will do a high 12 pass...

dude you are prolly not going to get such a good conditon car as this one for 11K, thats how much i'm selling it to you for. truthfully my misus is now telling me not to sell cos its not worth the head ache, and the money. I only offered it to you cos i saw you were not able to sell the car and i was interested in buying a gtr. but dude your asking 20 where i can pick up one for 18 then i'm giving you my car for 11 when i can easily sell her for 12 man i am making a huge loss... this afternoon i was really feed up thats why i was so relucted to take you for another drive. i'm being honest now, i have something you wanted and you have somthing i'd want so i made the offer. it was more then fair to you, a few flakes of paint and your all like this already. when i haven't even drivin your car yet or been for a ride in it, i've heard it run for like 1 minute.

dude i would really like to have this go ahead but no more umming and arring. i said I'll give you till monday but my offer is firm, i really do like the sound of your GTR but i have yet to be nit picky about it, sif you say a split CV boot is something small, that could easily lead to me having to replace the whole joint, warn bushes really do mean that you have been "spiritely" driving the GTR around. i have been fair and been very accomidating.

I dont want to hear about it till monday when you give me answer, be it yes or no i dont care. Like i already said i have somethnig you want and you have something i want, i've never even tried to make a profit on you in fact like i see it i've made a huge loss. make a decition, i even let your friend come down to take a look and he said it was a good starting base and worth it but even after that and your not sure.. i have nothing to say.... Its late and i'm really quite annoyed, i have done everything you have wanted with out making a demand and if you cant give me an honest answer soon, i really don want to be dealing with you at all...

I like your car but i love mine but i have been bitten by the GTR bug. i want to make this deal but i dont like being f**ked around. no more, if your offened and dont want to sell any more so be it but i really have had enough... take you time, make the choice tell me on monday no more demands i have told you everything, taken you for a test drive, wrote a f**ken detailed history of my car

lol i just relised your worried why i wont thrash it, your worried about the reliablity of my car, well you take your chances just like me i have had my car compression tested just before christmas and it read 158 across all cyclinders. Has you car been? i've told you where i severice my car and who has done what to it, you have told me squat. i've trusted you alot more than you have me.

Think about it over the week end.

Make the choice on monday.

and thats all i want to hear about this deal.

Hello all,

Just thought I'd introduce myself, I'm Adam, came along on Saturday with Mel and stole peoples chairs (next time will bring my own).

I like computers and cars, quite the nerd, but also love the exhaust.

Currently I drive my mums Pre-release/Series 1 Discovery with a 200TDI engine (before they fixed the more obvious faults), getting a new job in a couple of weeks so I'll be looking to get something decent for myself, figured I'd join and look around at what is to be seen.

Dad has a 01 Mustang Cobra SVT sitting in storage somewhere that I get to drive occasionally when he's actually in Brisbane, pretty fun car, but he hates me redlining every gear, parents split up years ago, not much else to me then that.

If anyone has any computer troubles, let me know and I'll see if I can give any tips. As for cars, I know a bit of the technical details that most know, but not much practical experience since I don't exactly get to pull apart any car.

Edit: Oh, also, I believe I'm the only Discovery driver that has a ticket for "Creating Unnecessary Noise", but feel free to point out that being wrong :D

why do you need to get them out of the fuel rail? Have you taken the whole rail out already?

Yeah I have the rail out, so they are just friggin tight in there eh? What did you use to grip them with to pull them out? The only bit I can get a grip on is the plastic housing for the harness and I dont want to damage anything.

nah he got it last night, he doing the initial run in and then i get it.

and yes i am trusting of people in know arent going to break it

hence why dan's doin the run in, and ur not :D

u get a power figure/dyno graph from the intial tune?

    • Not R7R. Meant to type R&R, obviously enough.
    • Bugger "making it look stock". I put one conventional internally fused Hella relay behind each globe. I just pulled the plugs off the back of the globes and built new loom segments with male and female plug parts to match up to the original loom and the globe, and used the original power wires to each globe coming from the switch through the original loom plug to trigger the relays. Ran a big fat (also separately fused) power wire across the front of the car to feed all the relays. It's as ugly as f**k, but it is wedged down between the headlight and battery on the RHS and the airbox and headlight on the LHS, and no-one ever looks in my engine bay, and on the odd occasion that they do I simply give no f**ks for what they think. Fully reversible - not that you'd ever want to. For f**k's sake. It's a Skyline. They made million of the bloody things. We've been crashing them into roadside furniture for 30 years now. There is a negative side effect to putting relays on the headlights. The coil current is too little to properly clean the contacts in the switches and they get blacked up and you have to open them up every couple of years and clean them manually. I have 25 years of experience on this point.
    • I was poking through the R34 wiring diagrams vs R33 and noticed that the R34 has proper headlight relays while the R33 is like the R32 and sends full headlight power through the headlight switch. I'm not afraid of wiring but I really would like to do this in a way that looks OEM (clipping into open positions on the OEM relay box) and also unlike the factory wiring which interlocks the high beam and low beam on the halogen series 1 GTR headlights I want to make it such that turning on the high beams keeps the low beams on as well. Any advice on how to locate the specific connectors + crimp terminals + relays I need? I was thinking one NO relay for low beams and another for combined high + low running off the factory high beam headlight connector. I don't really want to splice into a crusty old probably discontinued factory harness so fully reversible is my goal here.
    • Pretty sure they run the same engine as the Q50 hybrid which specifies 95 RON.  I ran 98 in mine for a while, but it made no difference in performance or economy, so I have been using 95 for the last few years.  I have never hit 6.0L/100km, but have returned mid to high 6 on the highway.  Being a hybrid, fuel economy is a lot more dependant on how you drive it.  At 110km/h, mine never goes into EV mode on the highway, so returns closer to 7.5L/100. urban driving can return low 8s if you are careful or over 10 if you are a bit more enthusiastic on the throttle.
    • About a quarter of what you want to do. It's only R7R, not R&dismantle&replaceparts&reassemble&R. ? It is stock. I already told you, you will NOT have broken those. It's f**king 4th gear for Christ's sake. You just chipped the teeth off.
