Appreciate your input fellas. I am starving and the old girl has gone to sydney for the weekend. I better go buy some food.

A little idea of mine for you to think about.

Has anybody ever thought of going to a largish punchy turbo and using "phase in boost" In other words. Not nos for high end output but nos that is there instantly and just phases out as boost comes on giving you an unbelievably flat power curve for a turbo motor. Been thinkin bout it for a while now. What are your thoughts, back in 30

Heaps of people use NOS to get turbo's on boost...but honestly...are you really wanting to got that far?? The turbo's we're talking aren't lag monsters..but if you're really chasing times, NOS would be a good option.

So you mean for example, 7psi at like 3500rpm then 10psi at just under 5000rpm ect ect, stepping the boost up in tghe rev range? I havent tried, but some yanks on Supraforums.com had disussed this a fair while ago

ah i should have read it right. so we're talking using nos, not stepping at the boost on a timmer.

N.O.S sell a timmer set to rpm marks to squirt

I thought he was talking about NOS to bring on boost quicker. This staging boost idea has been explored before....i don't believe it would make HUGE differences to lag time though...large turbo's still take more time to spool than small ones...for example the 3037s on the 33 took a hell of a lot longer to spool to .8bar than the standard turbo on my first 33. In fact I didn't notice huge differences in lag time between .8bar and 1.3bar...I think boost staging was to curve the harshness of boost coming on causing wheel spin in high hp cars.

HKS GT2540R - 360/370 PS Output

COMPRESSOR:

-Wheel- 46 Trim - 51.7 Inducer / 76.2 Major

-Housing- 60 Inlet / 50 Outlet - 0.50 A/R

TURBINE:

-Wheel- 76 Trim - 53.8 Major / 47.0 Exducer

-Housing- GT25 inlet / Internal GT25 oulet - 0.64, 0.86 A/R

so we're talking 272kw ratted, I reckon Noel old boy will get his 300rwkw, with the right support, tune and boost!! Plus HKS underate their turbos.

To play it safe Id step it up a notch in size, but it depends really on just what he wants to use the car for.

:S Apparently mine is equal to a 2540r...I cant get anywhere near that

yeh coz its not a real HKS ;)

Serious though, what else do you have? What power are you making at what psi and where? Simons maroon R33 is a self tune, self built and makes 270rwkw give or take everytime minus on an allstar dyno

I still think the 3037s is too big, unless you have a built head. What times does Noel want.

motor he said he has a hold of has a built head and bottom end...dunno what times he wants he just said hes 1/4 mile orientated..

The 2835s is internal gate..
