ya.. haha im not fully sick.. i heel and toe everywher why not practice a technique that saves ur box and clutch.. better for balance too :nyaanyaa:

but anyway.. i like to have my legs straightish not fully but to a point if u catch my drift  that was very tempting.

i like the weight of the sil.. but the steering is numb compared to the GTR.. :)

steering numb!!! steering should be shit loads better, since you only have half an engine up front.

sayin i havent slide in a silvia, i have been sliding in my brother SR20 laurel. Love the car and the engine. just the only thing is they just dont scream and complain enough, they sound to relaxed in there rev range....sr's are great to slide though. more initial spinning force then the rb20.

numb as in u need to turn the wheel more get lck stops.. with the GTR it was around one full turn wher as the 180 is like 1.7turns.. kinda shitty lol.

that and steering is soft and not as responsive.. the GTR was more planted..

my 180sx is also squatting a lil too much.. stupid teins..

ahh ok, thats because you have more lock in your 180...the steering circles in the r32's is teh gayness, but yeah i get yah, you'll get used to it.

lol man i started sliding on stock shocks...and stock sway bars, now thats interesting.

i have the N1's in atm...and the a street spec, so still no stiff enough for a drifting life, but go for the occasion that i do it now....but i need the hicas gone and some pineapples and thicker rear sway bar...the 17mm back there aint cutting it.

I sit in close. Partly because I'm not fully-sik. Partly because I'm 5'6 and can't reach the pedals...

I also sit reasonably close (not in view of the back window or at a level less than horizontal to the windows), I do this because I value control of the car and practical reach of the pedals....it does however lose me rep points and make me look less like a wannabe african american gangsta.....so unfortunate, it does look fulleh hektic when you're strechted right out.

damn, see i sit with the my seat as far back as it can go, and yet i still feel to close to the wheel, and im only around 6 foot :P

oh and hai

Thats pretty bad dude.

mudcrab why are you heel and toeing when thats a racing technique....drifting aint racing so no need to do it.

Im sure most car gearboxs and clutches can handle the abuse, unless you have a piss weak box and a underrated clutch for the power your running and the traction your road tyres are producing. I doubt your using soft semi slicks or full slicks on your street car.

meh, why not heel-toe? It has no real downsides and it's better for general components of the car, new or not. Primarily though it helps prevent unnecessary wheel spin/lock or car imbalance and generally feels better (inertia wise) than the engine reving out to slow the car. Practice for track days is only an additional benifit. As for the "drifiting isn't racing" debate...well, we've already had a thread on that.

    • My hold point for future mods is that I want a OEM detachable hard top first, but, finding one is a pain, MX5 Mania are looking for one for me, but, as hens teeth are more common, finding one in Australia is proving problematic  I can get a OEM one from overseas, hell, you can still get new ones in 'Merica, but, shipping is a absolute killer and I cannot justify the cost, or the risk of it being damaged during transport As for the aftermarket hardtops, whilst they do the job of being a hard top, and are fine for a track car, they don't seal well (read: leak like a sieve in the rain), and you need a plastic/poly rear window, plus they are a bolt in option only and not made to be easily removed I liked how the hard top on my NB could be fitted, and removed, by myself, in less than 5 minutes I know it sounds bad, but I'm waiting for someone to write off a car with one so I can swoop in on their pain, it will go to a good home though, so my guilt of this is tempered
    • I’ve got one on mine and it’s fine,
    • No, you don't want to plug the vacuum line, as that will turn that side of the booster into an air spring and probably make it feel worse. I'm not saying that the GTR master itself doesn't need a booster. I haven't paid attention to the GTR one to know what size it is cf the non-GTR ones. But when you think about it - they have to do the same job, which is to move a little slave piston a few mm to do what it is supposed to do, and that final action is the same on all the cars. So, it is very unlikely that the GTR MC is any different than the others, because it has the same pedal stroke and the same output requirement. The booster just makes it feel easier. I'd suggest you probably have an actual hydraulic problem. It's totally common on these old shitboxes.
    • Ye, in terms of bolting up the "Conversion" from a GT to a GTT is effectively "Use GTT parts for everything" Except the subframe itself, because you won't want a HICAS/4WS subframe. Remember your ABS system will be different too, thanks to GT being the S15 3 sensor system, instead of the R34 4 sensor system for wheel speed. I do not know how people get this to work given R34 diffs do not have a provision for an ABS sensor (they are on the tone wheels of the axles). I assume***** people use S15 gear/R34NA forever when they realize this - Or they convert it to a rear diff/axles that are R33 style which I presume has the singular speed sensor on the diff itself, but then you have to wire it all in and...and... and...
