agreed.. but i can remove the stickers, and he said he'll take $23k without the rims (which means if i squeeze him, $22k). then i can spend $2k on some nice 18" rims.. the other thing thats gay is the giant f**koff tacho and shift light he has to the right of the steering wheel... that'd be going the day i got it.

i figure

$22k for car without rims

$2k for some rims

removal of stupid guage and installation of boost guage $100

momo steering wheel $200

Electronic Boost Controller $400

and ill prob spend $1k on the sound system

total $25.7k for a GTR setup pretty close to how i'd want it.. down the track,

$1k for some coilovers

i think its still running stock clutch so prob another $1k there once it lets go (though he says current one is in 'perfect' condition)

p.s. i sent him a PM and got the following reply:

Hey mate, few questions from a serious buyer

how much power did it make ? who tuned it (if it was through Gavin, i presume Matt Spry)

what boost turbo's running ?

stock suspension ?

what condition is the gearbox in ?

stock clutch ? what conditions it in ?

deatils on sound system ?

would you be willing to sell without the rims (ie. i get my own rims put on and you keep/sell yours) ? i dont mind them, but if i recall correctly, more than 2" above stock wheel size is a defect..

Im also on the gold coast, so easy to check it out too.

cheers

just give me a call and i will answer all questions

i will take $23000 without rims also

270kilowatts

1 bar boost standard turbos

gearbox perfect

clutch perfect

sound system is kenwood with panasonic colour cd player with remote it is also pre wired for a sub in the boot also

does 270kw at the wheels sound right for stock turbs @ 1 bar with no cams ?

Yeah 35k is a tad bet steap...

Ive been looking very hard over the past 3-4 weeks and found some real bargins coming through the auctions in japan...

Saw a Series 3 R33 go for 26k (stock and clean) an R34 GTR with some accident damage go for 36k (damage looked like just boot lid, rear bar and tail lights)

In short the Aussie dollar is strong, get out there and shop around you will find heaps of bargins getting out there...

i would steer well clear from buying a gtr from someone on the goldy with shopping list stickers and 20's!!!!

i highly agree

I want this one: 1997 GTR
Regularly serviced every 5000Km at Allstar Tuning systems where I am told this is one of the best condition GTRs around

that above comment would be more than enough for me to steer well clear of that car

and lol @ that guy asking 35k for his stock purple 33 gtr

and lol @ that guy asking 35k for his stock purple 33 gtr

but its got fulley sick rims brah! mmmm 18x11's

If i actually get one next year I will probably go throught imports101 some smick micely modded 97 models close to the 30g mark coming through

Does no one know that term? It is along the lines of awesome and such.

mexicans and the like have rather strange ways of expressing themselves

    • The new project has arrived. I have wanted one of these for such a long time, well before that meathead Clarkson drove one in Africa. I really wanted an E34 but I have some medical issues that mean I *really* can't bump my head and the lack of airbags in the E34 made it just too big of a risk.  I don't know why I've always liked these older touring BMW's to be honest, but man I love this car. She's been pretty well maintained for her 243k's with what appears to be only a single oil leak at the oil filter housing gasket. It has a bunch of updates including later model bumper and headlights, 7 series billion-way adjustable seats and it came with a few spares and another set of wheels with legal tyres. I got a unregistered car permit from the RTA and drove it back from Canberra on Saturday.                   First cab off the rank is cleaning it up for blue slip. I dont know how picky they'll be but I figured I'd clean the headlights, fix the oil filter housing gasket, replace the speed sensors (throwing errors) and swap the OE wheels (the M Sport wheels have a big chunk out of one of the tyres.) I also need to replace all 6 gas struts - 2 for bonnet, 2 for hatch and 2 for hatch glass. The car tries to eat me whenever i open any of these. My plan for this car; Ultimately, this is a budget car. I can't afford to throw lots at it and its because I have another car that I got this, if something breaks its no big deal. I will just maintain and repair it really. But eventually I want to do a manual conversion. It actually looks pretty straight forward for E39's and the trickiest part will be sourcing the parts.  I do need to replace some suspension arms or bushes because wow, she's a floaty old girl. She's also fantastically slow. Like really, really slow. When pulling back out on to the freeway on Sat after a quick pull over I needed to wait until no cars were visible before going.  Oh, and the guy I bought it from had a gorgeous R31 GTS-X in the garage.
    • Do you have a picture? I assume it is a breather for gearbox oil as it expands, it should have a vacuum line run nice and high in the engine bay (R32 GTR has it on a top bellhousing bolt)
    • Hi all, I am putting an r33 gtst gearbox into a VL and have noticed what looks like a vacuum barb on the box (on top in the middle). Suspecting that it's a vacuum line but I'd like to double check, if someone could confirm the function of that would be great. Cheers in advance.
    • I’d love to find some where that can recover the dashes to look brand new and original. Mine has a very slight bubble, nothing compared to some I’ve seen though
    • $170K. I asked one of the guys there as a joke if that price was just for the passenger seat as it was where the price sheet was... he tried really hard to crack a smile 😄 He also mentioned that every single part of the car was inspected and either restored or replaced with a new or as new part, or made from scratch. The interior was incredible, every inch like a new car.
