I've never gotten the really clanish nature of the car scene. I love Nissan's and plan on owning Nissan sports cars for a long time. However a good car is a good car. I might hang shit on V8's, rotaries, boxers, other marques sixes and fours but no more than I make knock knock jokes about RB's.

I appreciate a well sorted falcon and I will hang shit on a rat box Skyline.

just a small extension of people culture, much like my "something" is better/bigger than yours.

boz you forgot to hang shit on 5, 3 and 2 and v12/w16 ;) Don't know what those 3 bangers drivers are thinking while driving slowest grocery shopping cart ever. :whistling:

you will be sitting there more often when it needs to go back for warranty ;)

This ^^^^^ also when the chassis snap just past the rear of the cab, nissan except no responsibility for it snapping

Talked the boss into getting me a new Navara ST-R....sitting in the customer lounge waiting to pick it up :)

:( im sure this was talked about already. At least its not yours, they're fine as long as you dont have to own it :P

My old mans has had 6 recalls already.

This ^^^^^ also when the chassis snap just past the rear of the cab, nissan except no responsibility for it snapping

That was recently? The most recent recall was for chassis rails cracking if the towbar has been loaded up to much.....Apparently its all to do with the towbar design being incorrect and that causes the chassis to crack...lol. they just put a new towbar under it.

Ive also heard many bad things about the diff. My old mans is still ok, other than having a slight whine. But he does drive like a grandpa.

sick. Camping soon then!?

comping in this sh!tty weather

rather be at home playing games on my PS3 or watch movies and have a mircrowave to heat up whatever I want

phhhhhtttt......camping not my thing.

well I don't mean right now. And you aren't invited anyway so ner :P lol

Are you trying to say i have powerful balls?

Well say i didn't use the trickle function, would simply hooking up the battery for a while be a bad thing?

If im not mistaken, do you use the trickle function whilst the car is still hooked up to just top it up over a long period of time?

Don't believe so, but i do have an alarm system so i'm sure that helps chew through a bit.

trickle is for keeping it topped up over extended periods.

straight charging for too long can destroy the battery.

if it has an auto off, then youll have to keep restarting it.

spend the money, its something that will come in handy and last a while if taken care of.

Good luck boys, you have opened a can of worms now. This is a bit of a pet passion for me.

When I was 18 I was earning pretty decent money as a staff trainer for a large call centre and the work was easy as pie. I sat there and coached people on how to do their job better, showed them around ect then I had Tyler and went to living on welfare. You know what the money is shit however I do have the time to pursue other interests, I went to Uni and studied Nursing. I have the time in my day to take care of my family, which is important to me and something I didn't have back then. I want to either be paid ungodly amounts for very little work or I want to be middle class. I want to be comfortable financially but I still want to cook a roast on Sunday afternoon, I want to have the time to do my families laundry and take Tyler to whatever extra curricula activities he decides to take part in.

Private health is a real catch 22 unles your private fund is going to cover everything. I worked at a private hospital for a bit and its crazy what you get charged for (laundering of linen ect) and do you really get any better care from the doctors or the Nursing team? Nope. The food still tastes like heated up cardboard, you still get students, the Nurses are no different and if anything as a Nurse I'd rather work Public solely because I hate pretentious pricks who feel that because they're paying for a private hospital stay that I someone how don't have just as much to do as I would on a Public ward. The ratios are no different, the pay isn't much better, we still don't get our breaks, if anything we're busier because we have KPI's to work to (have to answer call buzzers within 65 seconds ect)

I don't think kids really need everything to feel loved or cared for...if anything i believe you can give your kids TOO much. I grew up in a low socioeconomic family, I didn't get garbage bags full of toys for Christmas or Birthdays but I can tell you right now that my Mother loves me. However I believe it would have been beneficial to grow up in Melbourne.

Kids need good strong role models who can teach them right from wrong, how to respect others, your environment and yourself. As an adult I can't recall a single toy I received but I remember the time my mother spent with me. We didn't go to the cinema, but we went walking or for a drive (before fuel was 1.77 per litre). Don't get me wrong I am all for a good education, and if I was going to spend big $$$ on anything it'd be my sons health and education costs.

I dont remember any time spent with parents(apart from usual gatherings), but remember many toys I got/had.

just who I am.

but, I do agree with spending on kids health and education.

I live on 300 a week. 200 straight towards car payments. 50 on fuel and every fortnight I have 35 come out or gym. Sometimes it's difficult but I still have fun and still enjoy the work I do

been there, done that.

*going to sound old*

back in my day, didnt have any 'tools for ypur trade' help from the govwrnment.

I was bringing home about 260-280 with a Saturday.

had to pay the parents board(15% of my wage).

spent a butt load on tools.

still dont think it was worth it.

Shit :P

Scotch!

Same. Nearly twice as much as what she earnt...

High income earner. No brainer for me really. Anyone who knows me will see that a mile away.

Life is simpler with minimal funds but I like money. I like what it can buy me. I've been on both sides of the fence and let me just say that living in a high rise in the middle of the CBD is wicked!

Yes.

Probably not :P

I like working for the cash that I make and helping people when I do it. I like being seen as the guy with the answers who can get shit done. I like solving problems and making lives easier. Those that live on welfare and don't give back to society can go get F88ked.

this sounds good.

not last job, one before, I was earning ok.

approx 60-70kyr(before tax)for 6 full days.

7.30-5/6.

sometimes earlier starts and/or later finishes.

the final straw was sundays.

I farking hate working sundays.

for that money anyway.

9-3, plus around 1/2hr before and after to open/close.

they made it those hours so you 'still had time for a bbq or similar'.

now, who the fark wants to work in the middle of the day, come home, have a shower because youre covered in filth, then cook a bbq in the cold night air?

no one.

absolutely no one.

so, left, took a pay cut, earning approx 50k/yr for 5 1/2 days every week.

8-5.

was better.

but, still wish I had chosen a different career path.

then I could pay others to work on my car, rather then scrimping and saving.

missus works too.

earns more per hour than I.

meh, we shall get there I suppose.

/rant, thanks for skipping.

    • Hey all, not sure how active SAU is anymore but will ask away anyways. Just wanted to get some experience on the 2008 model GTR CBA model.  I've hit that age in my life (43) where I'm like fk it time to get my dream (midlife crisis) car. Looking at importing one in and seeing if these can be reliable if the main flaws are fixed up. Plan is to keep money aside to do the following straight off the bat to future proof it: * install a stage 1 rebuilt trans with all new bits and pieces.  * install a new Bellhousing from the later model GTRs. Or potentially an upgraded stronger version like MAD or ATR. Besides the above two things and typical maintenance items anything else you'd recommend doing.   Been speaking to a few people and the engine on these are very reliable apparently. But keen on the view of the community here. Hoping to find a nice grade 4.5 with low mileage in Grey. I'd go black but swirls too easy. Look forward to your responses and feedback. Cheers
    • Do Alan and Keith work on Skylines now? I remember buying stuff from them when I owned my Ralliart Lancer a few moons ago. Definitely genuine guys and be excellent if they dealt with the skyline platform as well.
    • Hey all, I'm Gaston from Sydney's West.  I was a member on here when I was a younger lad and owned a mint R33 GTS-T. Ended up selling it and getting married having kids (yadda yadda) we all know how the story goes. Now I'm back with the intention to get my midlife crisis (dream) car ... a R35 GTR.  You'll see me about asking questions and searching the forums. Good to be back and can't wait to get back an Import again.
    • I have to put something here in order to post the photos. From what I could gather there's more enthusiasm for modified cars now than there has been for years. There were probably more younger people there than older (me included lol) which was a good sign.  It did seem like the record least amount of representation of the 90's era hero cars on display though. Like maybe one or two examples of S-chassis Nissans, and maybe 3 or 4 R-chassis. By comparison there were a lot of Civics from that era but in all there were about 10 - 12 EG/EK Civic Type R.  Euro exotics are always there in large numbers, led by Liberty Walk...... say what you will about kids using markers to scribble on a Ferrari F40, it did seem like a stunt to infuriate Ferrari enthusiasts, or Ferrari itself. I wonder if there's something more to it. Either way LBWK have done some heinous things to a Lamborghini Miura this time. They should stop now.
    • Engines and drivelines are not war stoppers for me mate, busted arse bodies and un-obtainium parts and panels are though Both cheap Brumbies I looked at had trashed tubs and a fair bit of rust
