if the chassis is cracked, its cleaned and welded, and the new bar put on.

the way I see it, its more from people overloading the downforce on the bar, not the pulling.

if you have a nicely balanced(0kg down) 3t trailer, I dont think it would crack.

it you had a 1t trailer with all the weight at the front(say 250kg down), its over the downward load rating.

the new design now has vertical plates with an extra 2 bolts per side to help.

havnt seen any navara diffs yet.

have seen pathfinder one.

last i checked welding of any chassis bits is a big no no for any car. I understand the weight loading thing. we have a custom dual axle trailer with a long ass draw bar that regularly carries lots of heavy stone and concrete products, but has zero load on the ball if loaded well.

Nissan sounded quite concerned when we told them it regularly carries heavy trailers.

The old RB30 powered racing phatrol still makes easier work of driving trailers than the 200 killerwasps of V6 furry.

Do it Ants. Or just start bad mouthing them. Let everybody know how you've been treated. Name and shame, just make sure you don't do it on SAU, as the admin will kick you.

this coming from an admin....

My old mans is made in spain. agreed beautiful smooth idle. But my old mans has alot of cold start whirs and squeaks :( nothing major, just pulley's and the likes that shouldnt make those noises yet, and clutches that clunk, and a useless 6 speed manual where you only realy need 3 gears :)

so long as its done right, its ok.

think about it, theyre welded from factory.

a proper weld is actually stronger than the steel surrounding it.

and its only if the cracks are LESS than 150mm long.

The phone all Chris #@olloSKYLINEollo got before was at probley the third angriest I've ever been.

I'm currently at the pub quite drunk and very upset... I've sourced new headlights and indicators to fix it ready but feeling like shit.

A German Shepard ran out straight infront of the car in the fog I was only doing about 50ks, didnt have time to do anything. The dogs fine, my cars has been better ill get pics tomorow :(

agreed, But from years of tinkering old cars, I know for a fact that enginbeers frown upon chassis mods. so I assumed welding a perfectly good cracked chassis shouldnt be any different.

ahh sh!t man. Bad luck can strike at anytime. If the dog is ok damage sustained to your car can't be that bad (I hope)?

Mainly cosmetic like Chris said.... I duno. Ill be backstreet later very drunk :)

that sucks man, lucky for the dog he was largish. unlucky for your car. Owners of the dog should pay for this if you weren't doing anything silly.
