nah dont think it goes up that high.. but you wont need that much strenght for the gasket job? the only time i used mine was on the head bolts and they took about 72ft/lb

mine goes upto 250ft/lb. flywheel bolts are 110ft/lb but the main crank bolt is 340ft/lb

oh poor shane lol

cheer up mate! At least it wasn't something much much worse!

yeah i was originally thinking it was a rebuild job, i couldnt work i was dredding it that much

yeah mines a 250 one aswell..

by the time you get to 340 thats pretty tight.. for the cressidas crank pulley i used a teensy bit of loctite and this bad boy (borrowed from a mechanic) :

no idea what the tool is called but it worked good

haha that's dan's, i used it on the last 33 i did a clutch in (the crank bolt came loose when i was undoing the flywheel bolts )

Okay, prehaps i should rephase my question...

ATM I change gears at about 7000 RPM if im driving spirited, is this too high for a RB26?

It doesnt redline till 7.5. If I keep reving the car out this high will I do dammage or can the RB26 take thoes sorts of RPM comfortably?

3-4k ian (no smart ass comments any1, i have driven a gtr a fair few times recently)

oh wow.. really?

you must be an expert then!!!

lol... sorry.. we have a member that says that kind of stuff all the time! he's had his car off the road for 8months and not a thing done.. he reckons he's an expert! He drives me insane.

How often do you drive 'spirited' as you say??

Changing gears at 7000 rpm wouldn't be overly good for any engine on a regular basis IMO
