Has a haltech piggyback, running 14psi, if that helps? I'm completely stumped on what it is, only started doing it after I changed my clutch which again doesn't make sense, coincidence, was thinking maybe when I jacked the front of the motor up to get the gearbox out I've bent a cable or plug or something?

Should also include, has front mount, ssq bov, haltech piggyback, adjustable fuel reg, 3 inch exhaust, spitfire coil packs, walbro fuel pump, brand new plugs, pod filter, standard afm, stock turbo 14psi tuned by pulse racing ( old owner took it there) manual boost controller

Has anyone got pics of there coils after applying the silicone 401 rtv stuff?

I'm doing this next weekend, do I rub it on with my finger or dip them in a bowl of it?

Thanks in advance.

I don't have that Selley's high temp silicon at home, but I do have red RTV silicone gasket maker which takes temps up to 343C.

Would this work in the same way that the Selley's would?

To answer my own question, I tried using the red RTV silicone gasket maker, wrapped my coilpacks in electrical tape and took my car for a drive.

Car didn't misfire from 5000rpm+, but now sometimes hunts on idle. Will see how it holds up after Haunted Hills this Saturday!

what temperature grade of tape did you use?

what brand?

I used a house brand (Repco) electrical tape which cost me $1 for the roll. I assume you're in Canada from your name, so to explain, Repco is just a standard auto parts store.

My opinion is that the silicone is what's sealing it and the tape is just an extra measure on top in case I didn't get a 100% seal.

Also lasted a full track day with no missing.

Iv got a s2 r33 and about a month ago after driving it in the morning by the afternoon the car sounded like wrx, so horrible miss to dropping a cyclinder. I changed the coil packs to yellow jackets, new spark plugs, new coilpack loom and a new oxy sensor. Car ran sweet for about 3 weeks better then ever, more power ect. All of a sudden driving her today started her up after driving from one place to another and it started a lil strange like it did the first time it happened. Turn key and its startes with a bit of a bang like too much fuel, so a high rmp start somehow and then back to sounding like a wrx. Only time car sounds normal is on the coats down from reving the car. I am now stumped so need some help
