if you r after a line fuse, it doesnt matter as long as its above the current rraing of the amplifiers max surge current. The reason for a line fuse is to protect the car from catching fire if the cable gets shorted, not to protect the amp..ps put the fuse as close to the battery as possible, to minimuse the distance of a possible short.

Hmmm, 10A is a bit low, if you start blowing fuses with the 10A then look for something that better matches your amp's fuse rating.

As was stated by Danielson, put the fuse as close to the battery as possible. As far as I remember from competitions (soundoffs and such) you must have the fuse within 30cm/12inches of the battery to enter.

Fixxxer :teehee:

If it's an inline fuse, start with 10 if you have it, and if it blows, then work your way up. They're what? 30 cents each? Go for it!

Oh, and I use the same fuse as my head unit and amp use. 10 for HU and 30 for amp. They've never blown.

Too low is better than too high. If you DO get a short, you don't want to come back to a car on fire and say "oh... maybe the fuse was TOO strong" ;o)

Correct me if i'm wrong, but a fuse on an amp will protect the amp? The idea of an inline fuse is to protect the wiring from catching fire if it shorts out on the body of the car somewhere.

ok whicked thanks for the advice. I could get the model number but id have to go searching under the house and im feeling lazy, so ill just do the blow and replace method :)

Erm As for running power wires.. Wheres a hole in your fire wall? Drill one out? I can see one thats sorta in the wheel arch but its to hard to get to

What you need to do is

1. In the car on the drivers side take off the kick panel (right foot side when sitting in the car) with this off you should be able to see the firewall and in the corner a large rubber grommet.

2. Jack the car up, front driver’s side wheel, take the wheel off. once the wheel is off you need to remove the plastic cover in the wheel arch. don’t take it all off as there are like 500 screws just what is nessacery to pull part of it down. ps. you might want to put some car stands to hold the car up instead of leaving the car on the jack

3. standing at the side of the car where you took the wheel off take the power cable and push it through the guard there should be an opening near brake booster side of the guard (back end of the guard behind the strut tower) just feel around under the guard to find the opening. once you have found the opening, push it through the cable should know be in the wheel arc where you pulled the wheel cover down. put your hand up there and find the cable and then push the cable trough the grommet you should be able to feel it at the back of the guard

4. the cable should now be inside the car.
