Drivers Side Airbag Removal ?

Does anyone on here know of a D.I.Y. for the drivers side airbag removal on an S1 R33 ?? Im thinking of changing the steering wheel, and i heard its a decent weight reduction of around 40-50kg ?

Anyones help would be greatly appreciated..

Not that i'm aware of. Last time we had the airbag out on my friend's car, i thought it woldn't have weighed more than 10 kg.

maybe if you got all the wiring and sensors out, it would be close to 20?

mmm i dont think steering wheels weigh 40 - 50kg even with the airbag

you want weight reduction, take out the back seats, remove spare wheel/jack etc from boot, remove stereo, change wheels to forged racing wheels.

and maybe go on a diet and shed a few kilos yourself, every little bit helps

did you have to unplug/disconnect anything before taking out the airbag box?

It's not something that i'd really do. You don't know if you'll set it off, and an airbag can be quite niffty if you crash.

At least disconnect the negative battery terminal before attempting to work on the car's airbag system.

im not planning on crashing, this is the whole thing.. and as for being niffty, i heard ppl have had broken jaws and noses due to air bags in crashes.. they are more like a brick then a soft bag.. lol
