Julian you could not be further from the truth man ..... I ****en love Jaffas SS :( .... and you summed up my attitude perfectly by saying:

'Most other cruises are full of idiot drivers in buzz boxes where you spend the whole time worrying about the P plater who might sideswipe you.'

This is EXACTLY what I DON'T want SAU cruises to turn into! (hence the rant).

What everyone has said above is true .... we don't want to exclude anyone (as I said I'm not even supposed to be one of the group ffs), but I just wanted to make a point ... and I think the responses above have backed up my point .... if everyone has the attitude that has been explained by various intellengent people above we can (and do) have a whole heap of fun!

C u all Friday night for a HUGE one!!! (what does everyone think about my proposed route?)

Joolz (GFXMan)

Mate the SS is always welcome, damn I love that car!!! You guys know you are always more than welcome.

Nightcrawler

Agree with everything you have said, and also just because you dont have a Skyline does not mean you should not be there one bit, you too are always more than welcome.. If its Jap or if its a Jaffa then always welcome I say. The main point is having people that are mature , sensible , and like to have a bit of fun but safely, they are the people I like to cruse with, and everyone I have cruised with so far fits that bill.

Love that route to mate , very very cool , I am in for that for sure.

But yeah just to wrap up, If you do not own a Skyline then that does not mean you can not come on as SAU cruise, if you have a Jap car then your are welcome , and if you have a certain SS with a Jaffa plate you are always more than welcome.

:(

Erica,

Chill dudette :D I don't think you're the kind of person to lack judgement when on the road (from what I've seen of your driving).

I don't think Andy was singling out ALL p platers. I think he was just making an example & used a P plater in it.

Yer erica ur on ur P's because u make full use of ur skyline and we are proud of you for that!

I dont consider my car slow, but it's by no means fast...And i have no trouble keeping up with most turbo cars in the hills....It's more so a challenge for me than a detterant for you guys, since my car doesn't hav the brute power.

Ahh I C. I hear ya.

I agree with what you all said. I am glad we have the mature, smarter drivers in SAU compared to many "other" inferior cruises I have been on.

and TIMMAY, we both know I am going to be on my p'd till I am about 60 because of my teenage stupidity and SAPOL.

Nightcrawler you elitist bastard! :D If the Corolla was yellow, it was probably me....I know where you're coming from though, I hadn't really been to any SAU cruises before, they're a lot smaller than the others I'd been on with ricy Lancers/Excels that I can keep up with, or big enough that it's impossible to stay with the group. It is good to have a higher standard though, apart from my car the Skyline cruises have a much higher quality of cars coming along. You don't have to worry about that anymore though, my best mate just bought a Tommy Kaira M25 R33 GTST, so I'll be cruisin with him from now on, once he pays it off in a couple of months...;)

Maxx try Adelaide Jap, JMS or someone like that .... surely there would be a few floating around the place.

Robert we need a final decision on meeting place!!! It's your cruise so it's your call man! Please post ASAFP

lol.. ASAFP... i know what that stands for.

How about that office works car park on anzac highway. They have a car park round the back so we are invisible from the road? (the one next to the etsa building). That has been a good meeting spot in the past?

/shrugs.

    • Just one more post to show the final result and the original "janky" solution for a laugh. Everything feels really tight and no wobbling at all, very pleased 🙂
    • After drying a few days, time to put her back together
    • The hot exhaust light will come on not from just the cat being blocked, but it's just a temp sensor, and it's designed to warn you to not do things like park in long grass.   If you've been pushing the motor a bit, it can cause the light to come on.   Second if the cat is rattling, I'd suspect it's not blocked, but instead falling apart inside.   The easiest "fix" until you can get a cat put back in, is to unbolt your one, bash the rest of the insides out, and then bolt it back in.   For a daily driver/street car, I am in agreeance of put a cat in the car. If it were race car I wouldn't care if it were removed.
    • No worries at all 🫡 I think the most satisfying things to make are the little bits that are just impossible to find or they're no longer manufactured. Generally I always try to replace parts with OEM wherever possible. This little project is also great because it'll never see the light of day, but strengthen these brackets so it's not just relying on the little standard screws in the headlight plastic. As soon as I saw the standard brackets and screws I thought, "well I'm not going to install with just the screws, the plastic tabs will just snap off". It's crazy how expensive everything has become yeah. But I suppose that's supply and demand; granted it's a lot easier to get brand new genuine parts these days which is fantastic 😊, I don't have to get totally reamed at the local Nissan dealer ha ha We sure are lucky we have all these manufacturers making parts these days, a few really great Australian companies too like Platinum Racing Products and Fit Mint Automotive, what a time to be alive ❤️ . I've got my eye on the RB26 head by PRP as mine has a very fine hairline crack, so that'll need to be addressed some time in the future. If you have any requests or odd things to make feel free to let me know and I can have a crack at making replacement parts ✌️
