Had a great weekend,

Thanx to Paul and Scott for letting me take their cars for a lil run at the end of the day was great...

And thanx to all that took me for a spin on the skidpan as well had a blast.....

Ash that photo is going to haunt you for the rest of your life. :)

Another awesome deca! So much more fun with front tyres that grip! Yet another thanks everyone that helped out. Best deca yet, as I finally have a (tiny phone) vid of my car :)

Thanks all for a great weekend. A few little hicups - but I think overall it was an excellent event.

I have 412 photos to sort through. So... ah, don't expect them up in a hurry.

Thanks SAU for another top weekend. Massive thanks to the officials as well who gave up there time to help us loonies have a superb time.

Good to meet a few more people inc several rex guys, AGE etc. Also Nigel and Karl from Racingline. Dezz didnt realise who you were until later this morning but definately not what I expected so good meeting you and your girlfriend. :D

Ash and Bris donig the team proud with the drinking. :)

James apologies for giving away the two sombraros to the two chicks :)

My car seems to be running OK but I kept getting flat spots on acceleration after turning so I think the fuel was moving so much in the tank it was starving it. I was running with about 5 litres at the end to try and off set my bad driving and slow car :)

Biggest improvement of the weekend as I said to Snowy was letting us drivers drive the skid pan courses in the morning untimed. Massive help and so much easier than watching Chris or Snowy do it like November. Please keep that feature if possible.

Overall a top weekend and an excellent bunch of guys and girls. Thanks SAU and Racingline.

you and I raced at the lights this morning before maccas!

note: there was clearly no racing going on, as i was in an EF...i dont think we even reached the speed limit

BIG apologies to those who organised this DECA, I was unable to make it due to getting hit with one hell of a nasty flu late last week... This is the first day I have been able to get out of bed and hoof it back to my folks place to let the peoples know I won't be there... a bit too late hey! (I really need to hurry up and get the internet hooked up at my place)

anyway hope everyone had a good time and didn't break anything expensive... I am going home to bed now

What a weekend, comes and goes so damn quick!!! had a blast all day, the short tracks were awesome and the skid pan was nuts as usual!!! Thanks to everyone who made the weekend yet another success. Thanks mat for driving down for the day just to film, i will try to edit it all a bit and get it up sometime in the week. lots of good footage from what ive seen.

Cant wait to see the results & some more pics

There is an odd photo of Sarah inspecting some mystery persons butt! :D

I also think that Joels pictures are very good compared to the ones that James would have...

That little boy that Dane gave the hat to was the cutest kid I've ever seen. He was sooo happy to have a hat, then we went a little bit overboard by giving hats to the whole family including Grandma!!!

Priceless moment #348 - Bec saying to the grandma when she walked up to us "Granny you need a hat too" and plonking the hat onto the older ladies head. Bec's next comment after looking at how silly the family looked with the hats on was to open the Taco Bills door with one hand and yell at the top of her lungs into the restaurant "SOMEBODY GET A CAMERA OUT HERE!" hence how we got the photos of a completely random family.

Absolute top event as per usual. Was great to have some nice weather too after the last "little storm" we experienced!

The team have pretty much perfected the organisation of these things now! I was worried about the placement of the chicane on the miniwang, but it turned out to be great. Hanging the rear out of the chicane in that gravel was good fun. My driving probably haven't got any better, but that doesn't matter one bit! :D

As stupid as this may sound (to me anyway), sorry to a few people who wanted to risk their lives overturning in the boat and asked for passenger laps but um missed out (were spared???). Every time I got ready to queue up for a pan event, someone would just jump in the car and strap themselves down hehe.

Was good to meet a few more people too, now just have to work out their forum names.

My thanks also to the team for another fabulous event, which I am sure will be my last as I complete preparations to move to Brisbane. I only dream of emulating the success and fun of DECA in the Sunshine state for the club there if the opportunity presents.

I was fortunate enough to have Spence and our ladies along to make a full weekend of it, finishing with 600 odd bucks blown at my favourite winery on the way home.

Some memorable moment for me were the smoke following poor Sharnis car into the park, Snowies beast making another massive leap in perfomance, Ryan and Jarrod showing even more improvement in the driving department and my clutch starting to show signs of mortality.

Photos later, what a great weekend.

PS James. Golgo now has the go to go along with the sensational looks :D

    • Yeah most people that have heard it said it was fine but it's always had me slightly worried. Oil pressure I can't remember off the top of my head but it has plenty, I run 10w60 You're probably right mate, best get ordering some shims! Guessing Nissan is the best place for them?
    • Just wanna preface this and point out I'm a mechanical fitter by trade but have had very little rebuild/machining experience, but I am keen to learn, hence this project. Bit of a write up here so bear with me, just want to make sure I do this right  I've got an rb30e currently pulled down. Planning on putting a 25 head on it and running it in my s14.  Not chasing huge power so I'm just going to try get away with factory bottom end for now.  Started measuring the crank the other day, realised my budget daytona micrometer set wasn't up to the task (surprise, I know). They only measure to 0.01mm but the Nissan specs are to 0.001mm. Anyway, I started measuring anyway and came away with the mains being inline with the oem spec, as well as the big ends, except for no. 5. I consistently got a measurement of a hair over 49.96mm, where all the others were pretty spot on 49.97mm. The lower spec for grade no.1 is 49.961mm. I'm getting access to some better gear my next days off to double check everything, but in the case that the big end is right on that bottom spec, is it pretty much just a case of straight to the machine shop for machining and oversized bearings? I understand I need to measure the tunnel as well to work out my oil clearance, but it's the different grade bearings in the manual that are confusing me. What is generally the process when one journal would still technically be in spec, but in a different grade?  Thanks for coming to my Ted talk
    • You need to visit Ipswich. Plenty of clapped out R32 and R33s running around here as daily drivers. And when I say clapped out, they're how you'd look at a VN, when it's the year 2010...
