i will try and get a graph tomorrow that shows the air/fuel but when i looked at it it was perfectly straight on 12 wich is good.

i wanted to run 17 psi but the wastegate was screwed in as far as it goes... i dunno if its the turbo or weather i need a stronger spring or the car just cant produce enough exhaust gasses.. i will put a bleader on the air line to the wastegate to c what happens..

all up so far this car only owes me $10000 so i am very happy with the result..

please tell me your thoughts.

yeah that's be the max that the wastegate will run. to boost it higher put in a boost controller. make sure you have the boost controller set at the lowest boost setting to start off with. sounds obvious, but it will be fresh in your mind now so less chance of you forgetting.

but thats respectable power for a rb20.

nah i dont i emailed the guy i bought it off so hopefully i will get the info soon. and i still want to boost it up to 17 psi. my tuner said he would re do it for free when i up the boost. he said i have a lil left in the injectors and 17 psi will be close to what they will handle

before i got it tuned it came on full boost at about 4200 now it cames on at about 3900 - 4000, a little laggy but oh so fun when it comes in.. haha.

i am still waiting to find out what the specs of the turbo is and i am taking it back next week to boost it up to 17psi.

There was some markings inside the exhaust housing but i cant really remember what they were. I was told that ADVAN sell the turbo new so i emailed them and i am waiting for a reply. and that JMS had one for sale a while ago and they advertised it with a rating of 470hp.

here are some pics before i put it on..

i will keep trying to get info.

do u's want me to get the numbers that are engraved on the front comp cover?

i wouldnt say that its the max that the wastegate will rung i'd say its the spring thats in there.. either change the spring or buy a decent boost controller

Trust website- has a pic but no specs

Another Trust link (part of the kit) says it comes in a variety of housing sizes

The 45mm Pro-gate has a screw on it?

Can you get a pic of it, ive never seen a pro-gate with a adjustable screw on the top.

Mine certainly didnt and not once ive seen since

Its always been a case of open it up and change springs to what you want.

Depending on when you purchased the gate it should come with a set of spring rates, the new 48mm teflon ones (which replaced the 45mm if i recall) come with about 4 i think which is awesome.

And car will push the gas, if you hear the gate open, its making the exhaust no worries

there is a pic of the wastegate.. the screw is on top as u can see.. but i found out that apparently it is a balancing bolt or something and it already has the biggest spring in it. so i will just run a bleed valve.. the gate is not ajustable..

still waiting on the info for the turbo apparently it hase a 20g exhaust housing..?? means nothing to me.

never seen one like that before, is it genuine?

but all you do is remove the 6 screws holding the hat/lid of the gate down, and swap springs.

you can most certainly get more than a 17psi spring.

Just get a 7psi and a 14psi spring = 21psi

They sell them scaled, so a 7psi goes inside the 17psi one.

I bet it has a 10psi and a 7psi one in there now

oh ok that makes sence..

yeah it is genuine, i got into contact with turbo smart coz i thought by looks of it the bolt was some sort of ajustment. but they told me it was for balencing..

Just get a 7psi and a 14psi spring = 21psi

that would be great but for some reason i think my standard injectors would be quiet maxed out.. haha

    • Just one more post to show the final result and the original "janky" solution for a laugh. Everything feels really tight and no wobbling at all, very pleased 🙂
    • After drying a few days, time to put her back together
    • The hot exhaust light will come on not from just the cat being blocked, but it's just a temp sensor, and it's designed to warn you to not do things like park in long grass.   If you've been pushing the motor a bit, it can cause the light to come on.   Second if the cat is rattling, I'd suspect it's not blocked, but instead falling apart inside.   The easiest "fix" until you can get a cat put back in, is to unbolt your one, bash the rest of the insides out, and then bolt it back in.   For a daily driver/street car, I am in agreeance of put a cat in the car. If it were race car I wouldn't care if it were removed.
    • No worries at all 🫡 I think the most satisfying things to make are the little bits that are just impossible to find or they're no longer manufactured. Generally I always try to replace parts with OEM wherever possible. This little project is also great because it'll never see the light of day, but strengthen these brackets so it's not just relying on the little standard screws in the headlight plastic. As soon as I saw the standard brackets and screws I thought, "well I'm not going to install with just the screws, the plastic tabs will just snap off". It's crazy how expensive everything has become yeah. But I suppose that's supply and demand; granted it's a lot easier to get brand new genuine parts these days which is fantastic 😊, I don't have to get totally reamed at the local Nissan dealer ha ha We sure are lucky we have all these manufacturers making parts these days, a few really great Australian companies too like Platinum Racing Products and Fit Mint Automotive, what a time to be alive ❤️ . I've got my eye on the RB26 head by PRP as mine has a very fine hairline crack, so that'll need to be addressed some time in the future. If you have any requests or odd things to make feel free to let me know and I can have a crack at making replacement parts ✌️
