TTT
you don't need to "OPEN IT UP" to clean it. you just need to take it off the car. unbolt the air box or pod filter. then undo the hose clamp that holds it on to the intake pipe. un plug the afm plug. now get degreaser and spray the inside where the wire is. hose it out.. (not with high pressure) dry it out. plug it all back in. if it still has problems, then you may need to resolder.. here is the prob I had..and the fix http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...opic=118437&hl= Edited June 2, 2006 by GTST Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/120543-new-or-second-hand-afm/#findComment-2223903 Share on other sites
scheris
Don't think you're supposed to use degreaser, suppose to use contact cleaner wont damage the AFM inside bits. PHATR32
basicly you can use anything that wont leave a residue. e.g metho, it evaporates quickly, and takes any moisture with it too. also, if its actually faulty, it might be dry solder joints on the pins, which is easily fixable. theres a "how to" i made in the tut section. steve Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/120543-new-or-second-hand-afm/#findComment-2224439 Share on other sites
