Any suggestions for routes? Normally I just wing it  and tell eveyone to follow.

i reckon we go the back way. not just straight there, but go along uriara rd for some awesome twistys :)

i dont mind leading the way  if everyone else is cool with that. i've lead cruises before and know the rules and how to drive when leading a big bunch of cars.

I'm very much thinking about coming along... I usually work sundays so I'll have to put in for a days leave. Hopefully if that's all good I'll be able to get along and meet a few more of you since I only ever got out to the museum once shortly after I got my car and that was more than a year ago XD

Cruise, Code of Conduct, Taken from the R31 Club site... I don't think it's as strict, but it's a good base for guidelines....

Cruise Code of Conduct

If you attend a cruise, you are automatically bound to these guidelines.

To ensure the safety of club members and other road users, we are bringing into effect (and enforcing) a set of guidelines for safe and enjoyable cruising.

Definition of CRUISE - to move about without precise destination; in

motoring and aviation, to go at a normal operating speed,

this does not mean a RACE or a chance to act in an illegal manner..

1) Parking lights (during the day) should be turned on so that we can tell if you

are with us, or if the Skyline/ Pintara ahead/behind is with the group or not.

If you leave the cruise, turn your lights off so that people don’t follow you.

2) Do not pass the designated pace car.

The pace car and the car at the back of the pack will be in constant radio contact in order to keep the group together.

Do not speed to catch up to the front group of cars, they will wait.

(Some states have smaller groups and may not have radios)

3) Members will not engage in behaviour that is in any way threatening or harmful to others. (In or out of the vehicles)

4) Burnouts or ‘accidental loss of traction’ will not be tolerated.

(This includes gravel surfaces, which may cause damage to other peoples cars)

5) Dragging is strictly for the race-track

6) Members will obey road laws at all times.

This includes:

· Line markings,

· Speed limits,

· Traffic lights,

· Pedestrian lights,

· Boom gates,

· Stop/ no U-turn /no right turn/ give-way signs etc.

· Parking signs

7) If you are found to be acting in an unsafe manner, you will be warned.

If you continue to behave in an unsafe manner, your actions will be noted and you will be asked to stop attending cruises, and your actions may be reported to the police.

8) Remember that if you have club stickers on your car, you are representing the club even when you are not participating in events, and are expected to conduct yourself in a safe and orderly manner at all times.

If this is a problem for you, then please don’t wear club stickers.

Any reports we receive from the general public of club members acting irresponsibly will be taken very seriously, and will be dealt with accordingly.

ALSO....

I think we also change the food/beverage situation, something along the lines of designated food bringers, drink bringers, etc.

And for the route, the long way is okay for me. I would like a few stops to take a few pictures and video footage(not sure if anyone agrees tho)

I know some people are keen to hoon around(which is not a good idea) but I doubt it could be stopped. Those spirited people will lead and seperate when they feel the urge, the rest of us will cruise up at a more casual pace. I don't agree with this but I think there maybe less people inclined to join or feel pressured into some touge action.

If people are really against this idea, we'll put some pansy at the front to set a steady pace.

Need your input guys...

I agree with the general thrust of your idea of a cruise, too many times I've seen such events go from champagne to sh#t because somebody decided they wanted to show everyone how fast they could be. Its SOOOO uncool waiting for the ambulance!!!!

BTW I won't be on the cruise anyway, I'll just get to the destination [i'll be coming in via the Barton Hwy].

So I'll see everyone at Cotter [unless plans change].

I won't be driving fast anyway, my car is too slow and heavy. i want a nice leisurely cruise, then a nice, delicious BBQ at the end, then another nice leisurely drive through this sublime country. there's no reason to go fast, it's not like we have to be there at a certain time. we can enjoy each others cars when they're stationary, not flashing by at a billion clicks.

yeah Luke no need to race ok, mean while i have my rear strutbar in and would like to test some suspension changes. Not meaning i am going to be stupid and breaking the law either.

My car has been delayed.. but still should make it..

agree totally with what has been said..

People screaming past others does cause damage to cars, i know nobody like stone chips. Alot may remeber a cetain front bar.. (me)

Nice steady cruise sounds good, on the back road it gets a bit rough so loss of traction can happen..

All in all.. im cool with it..

basically, when leading a big group, you drive EASY, wait for other cars which may have fallen behind, ALWAYS indicate early and do the posted speed limit or less. they're not really rules, just common sense....

Allrighty, I got the day off so the two-tone beast and I are in for sure >_<

What's the go with food etc? We all bring our own or someone brings the lot and we all chuck in to cover the cost (and possibly a little bit for their trouble :nyaanyaa:)? And I'm all for keeping it cruisey and sane, especially since alot of us (myself included) are probably wearing SAU stickers on our cars we don't really want to give off any negative publicity.

I say.. with food and drinks..

Everyone brings there own.. saves the hassle of people getting more than others and others paying more and all the rest..

Bring what you want, if you wish to bring extras to share feel free.

Thats what we have done in the past, and seems to work well

Shell you can always meet at the cotter.. give yourself a lil sleep in.. :)
