Hey all...i'm new to this forum

Have found some helpful posts on here already.

Need some advise:

My R33 driver's side mirror wont fold when i hit the switch. Passenger mirror folds fine.

Any ideas what to look for ?

Hoping for an easy fix here :)

Also, why does it say RB20E on my profile there <<< ?

Is that like a newbie rating ?

welcome to the club :) you can change the rb20e in your personal settings from 'my controls' which should be in the toolbar in top right corner (sorta), as for your mirrors im not very mechanicly minded but the guys here are pretty smart they will know wat to do

Yes newbie rating, moves through rb20det->rb25de->rb25det etc as you post.

As for the mirror, could be either a wiring fault, fault with motor in the mirror or something preventing the mirror from closing (something jamming it).

Firstly, i'd look and move it manually and see if there is anything stuck there.

Secondly, i'd get someone to press the button while I listened to the mirror to 'hear' if its trying to close.

If you can't hear anything it means either bad wiring or dead motor: Solution: pull it apart and run a multimeter through the wiring (where the motor connects in, just complete the circuit) when pressing the button to see if you get a voltage. If you do, its the motor thats stuffed. If you don't its the wiring and you need to find the break or short.

If you can hear the motor trying to move it either means the mirror is jammed open (something stuck) so you should find out what it is and remove it, or it could mean that the motor is trying to do its job but its somehow burnt out, and you need to get a new one.

Happy troubleshooting.

hi, i've got the same problem as you.. intead of closing it though, mine closes and doesnt open back up again... i dunno what could be causing this as it folds in fine but doesnt fold back out (i've listened and the motor doesnt even try to fold out).. unless theres 2 motors, one for closing and one for opening??

could be the position switch?!? I've never pulled one apart but i'm guessing there would be an end switch which tells it when its in position. If thats stuck in it might not drive as it thinks its already in the correct position.

Edit : Just followed link above, looks handy
