Hey Everyone,

Has anyone removed the leather hand brake cover on a 32? The part you grab with your hand when you use the handbrake.

I am trying to put a drift button on and I can't get the cover to budge. I have removed the circle cylinder thingy at the end (around the button) but I can't get the cover too move.

Does anyone have some tips for me?

Cheers

Chris

I did it, but it didnt go to plan...the rubber is moulded so tightly and is impossible to pull off (like S13)

I ended up hacking at it with a stanley knife, and got a alloy cover to go over the leaver...good luck with it!

ok, so you just gotta reef it off. Atleast now I know that I can go nuts on it. I have tried twisting etc. I think I'lll leave it till next week (after drift day) and I'll pull the assembly out and get it into a vice so I can get a better hold on it.

I was gonna cut it off, but obviously I need a replacement first.

^ yeah drift button, fairly simple. you remove the spring that holds the button up. And slip the handbrake button over the original button, so you have a lip to pull up the handbrake to lock it.

I don't bother, i just use the handbrake without the cover on, because i find as you pull the handbrake, the cover (the thing you're trying to get off) slips up and locks the handbrake on.. which is very annoying when drifting coz you just do this violent spin and leave nice flat spots on your tyres....
