A street tyre will give maximum traction at standard working pressure.

They are not slicks, dont try and let them down as your performance will suffer along with tyre life.

I agree that street tyres will not perform in the same way as slicks or drag radials, but totally disagree that a street tyre will give maximum traction (for a straight line drag) at the normal working pressure.

Reducing the tyre pressure to say 20psi will enable more of the tyre surface to come into contact with the track as the tyre compresses on launch resulting in improved traction off the line.

Best way to check is to do your first run at your normal tyre pressure and then reduce the pressure on your second run to see if there's any difference. I'd be surprised if your 60' time wasn't at least .1 - .2 quicker.
