It's the A pillar dude, and GReddy make a twin holder to fit your car... I just bought one for my rex from Perfect run for about $100 landed which is cheaper than anywhere in perth...

Gauges come down to personal choice as there is such a variety, I've got defi's as I prefer the green back light, but others like the blue EL of HKS, GReddy, Blitz etc...

Which gauges are you interested in getting? Boost, Fuel pressure, EGT, Oil temp etc...

well this is my first turbo car, it already has a boost gauge, but thats mounted on the left of the dash. what do people usually go for? whats the most useful, and i wanted a green back light, or one that you can change the color of.

thanks for the pillar clarification :w00t:

and ill check out the greddy site, do all guages fit into the holder or does customisation have to be done before it will fit?

thanx for help man, i appreciate it :D

Depends on whether you get the 52mm or 60mm pillar gauge holders, but most gauges you can get in either size.

If you get the dual pillar gauge holder, be careful about visibility, and how far they stick out. Pillar gauges cannot stick out more than the steering wheel, and must not block drivers side front quarter panel visibility. They (at the pits) are very strick on it. I have a permit for my dual pillar gauges, and the guys at the east perth pits, were going to try and revoke it and they refused to give me my permit back and made me go and see the technical team at welshpool pits. Luckily, because I have a permit that said 'pillar gauges' not 'pillar gauge', they couldn't do anything, although they weren't happy with it. They took a photo of it for records. My top gauge does stick out further than the steering wheel, and blocks some of the view. Trying to get a permit for them like that now would be almost impossible.

ahh...ok thanx alot for that man, ill try and make them as close as possible to the inside area of the steering wheel.

would it be too much trouble to ask for a pic of your interior with the gauges in view? that would be very much appreciated...

Hi Steve,

The picture below is the only one that I have of the interior. It give a good view of the pillar gauges, but not really of how far they stick out. The top gauge juts out more than the steering wheel, which the police/pits dont like because of the chance of hitting your head on them in the event of an accident. You can also see how far they stick out from the a-pillar, which is another thing that they do not like...about restricting the drivers view. I dont think they restrict the view that much, but the guy at teh east perth pits sat in it and straight away said, 'if a small child ran out onto the road you wouldn't see them', yes the bride seats have a low rail, but the guy was also about a foot shorter than me :(

hey JB cheers for that i really appreciate it

ahh its been so long since ive seen the interior of a 33 haha. anyway cheers for that i dont really see how they restrict your view that much, but i suppose i can understand that hitting your head thing, and if the kid was small enough, theres a chance.

but yeh, cheers for that, ill look into it a bit more once i actually GET the car haha :)

thanx mate, steve :ermm:
