hey guys, im just in the process of installing a bosch 040 fuel pump and i have run into a problem. Im trying to get the pump cradle back into place and i cant get the cradle right down into the slots. In goes in about 1 inch and stops. Ive checked my hose clamps and they are not touching anything. Once i get it in as far as i can it is very stiff and hard to move so it cant come out.

Do you think it would be ok if i left it like this? I have under a quarter of a tank and the pump is completely submerged in fuel.

Thanks, Mike.

Also here is a pic incase people didnt know what i was on about.

when i installed my 040 pump i cut the bottom of the bracket off.. That way you can stick the pump lower down on the bracket so it gets to the bottom of the fuel tank.. If you leave the pump in the stock position on the bracket you'll loose like 1/3 - 1/2 of the last 1/4 in the tank...

not sure why yours doesnt fit back in though....
