paid 3600 to insure my car for 35k with famour im 19 and i have had a fine aswell.... check the for sale section for specs on my car. personally i thought this was excellent so i didnt bother getting any other quotes.

I recently went through the insurance thing and ended up with:

R33 S2 GTST, minor mods (bov,wheels,exhaust), ins for $26500

23yo with 60% (rating 1) ncb, never lost points

$1800 with Famous

I got this through an insurance broker (that the dealer who imported the car put me onto), and it was much cheaper than when I rang Famous myslef (they just asked me what my best quote was ($2900 at the time) and beat it by a few hundred - $2400 i think).

As long as you have a good rating, no offences, car locked up overnight you will be fine.

i went with Famous as well. stcok s15 2001 (not for long), rating 3, 24, $2300. Best I could get.

Any ideas what kind of increase is expected from the following mods:

-exhaust

-POD filter

-ECU

I wouldn't bother with a pod at the moment. Money would be better spent towards a boost controller.

The stock box is fine for mild mods only when you start making 200rwkw+ is when you should start looking at a CAI with a partion. I had mine on the dyno making 164rwkw. Pulled the stock airbox out and slapped on a K&N Pod and I didn't gain any power or response. So I put the stock box back on.

Thats not to bad really.. When I was rating 2 I was paying $1500 with Just Cars but a cheaper car that a 33 however. It was insured for $20k at the time.
