GTS-T or GTS25T ??

Hi all i have just got a R33 94 model skyline , now ive been told that if it has GTS-T on the back then it is a RB20.

But mine has 2,5 on the top of the motor so should mine have GTS25T on the back , and i know its turbo i looked for that !

Well if it has an RB25 and a turbo it's a GTS25T, I can't say I've ever seen an RB20 R33 but I think they do exist.

The RB20DET was not a factory option in the R33, the R33 coupe weighs 1360kg, this is no doubt one reason why the R32's RB20DET engine was superseded by the half-a-litre-bigger RB25DET. The extra capacity squeezed out of the same RB block involved increasing bore and stroke to 86.0 x 71.7mm (up from 78.0 x 69.7mm respectively). However, the RB25 also features much larger inlet runners than the RB20, a vastly improved cylinder head, a larger (ceramic turbine) turbocharger and a marginally larger air-to-air intercooler. A relatively high 9.0:1 compression ratio!!

Also the easy way to tell what model you bought is by the Vin number on the compliance plate ie:

HR33 - RB20E - GTS ,GTS-S

ER33 - RB25DE - GTS25 ,GTS25-TypeS

ENR33 - RB25DE - GTS-4

ECR33 - RB25DET - GTS25t TypeM

BNR33 - RB26DETT - GT-R ,GT-R V Spec ,GT-R V Spec N1

I think the sticker at the back of your car may have been replaced. Should say "GTS25t". The previous owner may have repainted the boot lid for some reason?
