Fellas, my car started overheating the other day, pulled over and the thermo fan (little fan between radiator and bumper) had stopped working. Checked the fuses and all ok so I guess the actual fan motor is stuffed. If you've got one you don't need and you know it works drop me a pm or sms if you're in Melbourne to 0411 453 770.

Cheers,

George.

^^ Don't know brother, I thought that the motor not showing any power meant it was rooted. I tried the engine fuse box and all the fuses and relays are working fine, changed them around and all worked to prove it. I say the fan motor is shagged.

The fan is a power consumer, not a power generator. If you can't detect any power at either terminal, then there is a problem elsewhere that is preventing the delivery of current to the fan motor.

Try applying direct battery power across the terminals of the fan motor.

Also, this fan is controlled by the thermal switch in the bottom tank of the radiator - check it is working.

george dont worry about it hey....

its only an engine over heat fan....

when it gets too hot it switches on automaticly via the sensor in the drivers side of the radiator with the green plug its not a normal engine thermo nor is it a air con fan... this is 100% correct i wouldnt stress mate....

maybe look into the health of your fan hub should overheating become common... i just happen to have a brand new one here if you find yours to be faulty

btw hows dulan going? is he back from his holiday??
