After I decided to check my spring rates of my D2's I was horrified to find hey were 17.8kg/mm fronts and 9.8 rears. Not what I thought they ere I can tell you.

So after a bit of research on SAU and the web I decided on 7kg/mm fronts and 6kg/mm rears and I ordered them on monday from D2 racing.

They arrived Thursday (Very happy with the D2 service).

Here are a few pics for your perusal.

I forgot to take in consideration the softer springs will have the car sit a little lower.

I will adjust the strut hieghts to allow for 350mm front and 345mm rear tomorro (centre of wheel to guard.)

The overall ride is firm but not too neck breaking and it handles wonderfully with no noticeable bump steer as of yet. Bumpsteer was real bad before with the old springs.

What does everyone think?

Any suggestions?

They weren't the default springs as far as I know. The racing springs are 13kg/mm and 8 kg/mm or there abouts according to there website. I have no Idea why the springs were so stiff !

But they were very rough indeed. Back breaking. When I hit bumps the whole front would move up.

It finnaly gave me the F'n S!@T's in the end hence why I swapped them.

How much did they charge you for the springs?

Did they give you a trade in on the old springs?

:P cheers :D

$60 a spring so $240 for the lot pus the frieght $25.

Seemed ok to me at the time though it has been quite some time since I have bought springs for a car.

As for trading in the old springs I never thought about doing that at all to be honest.

Bugger!!!

Might make a coffee table out of them one day. :)

:D cheers :D mate!

I raised the hieght on the drivers side to match the other side and from the centre of the wheel to the guard they are 330mm for the fronts and 340 mm for the rears.

Neither of the front wheels is rubbing on the guards or anything but I am not sure if this legal?

I didn't have as much time today like I hoped to raise them all.

Ah well Off to buy a dryer now (damn rain.)

    • I mean, the 240i is not a Supra... make it drop a few hundred kg, have a sportscar chassis, clearance for wheels etc... Maybe I want a hardtop Z40i XDrive or something :p I do agree with you though and have long said the B58 Supra/240i/340i/440i is the new R Chassis/JDM90's turbo rocket for mod lovers to ... not always appreciative response lol. Doesn't make it not true though.
    • I will do the build myself but I will be paying for the tune because I don't know how much about that and would rather it be done right and by a professional
    • Will you build and tune it yourself or do you need to pay for labour?
    • Mechanically that's essentially what the M240i is, it's just not pretending it's not a BMW
