what replacement ecus for the rb25det don't use the afm. i have heard of some people talking about ecus that use a map sensor.

i am trying to twin turbo my rb25det. i am going this way as i already have 2 good rb20det turbos sitting at home. if i went for a large single i would have to change the ecu anyway. so i figured running the twin rb20dets which i already have would save me the $1000 or so i would have to pay for the large single.

can any body help me with any ideas on this matter.

thank you

microtech, autronic, do a search.....and you figure you can save money on a big single....you still have to get custom manifold made up for twin turbos custom exhaust etc etc......why dont you get a high flowed rb25det turbo.....theres the cost of your custom manifold and exhausts and all the associated crap that goes with a custom setup.....sell the two turbos you have make some money there

Mate all the ecus these days tune the same

You are better off with either

Haltech E11 Plug N play

MicroTech LT12 Plug n Play

Wolf Plug N play

Hydra Plug N play

I'm curious about this hydra its apparently doing ETC and vairable cam timing isn't it?? Have heard they are working on a plug in for the EVO 9.

Thank you everyone for your help in this matter. MR331307 on the bottom of your reply it says about a 591hp r33. Is this your vehicle and if so what have you done to the engine to obatin this kind of power as it is the target power area that I'm tring to get too. About 600hp out of a rb25det in a s13 silvia should make for a very fun car.

Once again thanks everyone.

motec is basically a racing use ECU. it has many many features that an average bog stock skyline or even high powered skyline wouldn't use. it is simply not cost effective for a customer to use, given they can go for $1000 ecu and get 90% of the features they need. some of the features include

2 lambda sensor input

drive by wire control

rev limit per gear

down shift rpm matching for gearbox

3d map tables

choice of firing for upto 8 drivers

temperatre input/correction for air temp, oil temp, water temp

8 aux outputs for gate control, idle up, warning lights

porgrammable inputs (speed control for pits ie: lock speed to 50km/h)

full logging

basically rally cars and v8 supercars run motec as it has the features they need and use. gear logging for each gear and so on.
