was just looking at an RB26 converted GTt, and i think the engine is from a 32, notorius for havin trouble with the oil pump drive, and i believe it has been rebuilt at some stage (so my guess is its from a 32) but was just wandering what visual differences to look out for?

PS - anyone remember what issue of HPI/ZOOM had the in depth article about the differences in each model? not the GT-R special 5, thats lookin at the cars, im just interested in the article about engines.

edit - i just took a closer look, and it would appear it was an NA auto before it was converted. what are the major differences between the NA and turbo, apart from engine and gearbox.

brakes?

suspension?

diff? im assuming single spinner

what else?

Is this ADDICTED2R34S' car?

nope....didnt even no his gtt was a rb26

also....what kind of problems of things u can think of that might have a bit of a hassle running with a car thats been converted from a NA auto to a Twin turbo Manual?

brakes

diff

dash cluster wont have boost gauge

how are they brakes and diff different?

boost gauge isnt a biggy....

brakes will be tiny because they are NA brakes (unless they have been changed)

IIRC, diff would be an open diff im pretty sure the vlsd only came on the turbo model

do u think its a good idea to buy a GTT NA Auto converted into a rb26 manual twin turbo? or will it cause to many hassles in the long run?

there is no way a RB26 converted non-turbo would pass registration with the NA brakes...

and even if it's dodgy and gets registered - the first time a cop who knows what he's looking at will take you to the cleaners

no I don't think it's a good idea to touch anything RB26 seeing your recent unfortunate writing off.
