Hey,

Ive got a stock r33 4 door auto, im thinkin of takin it down to the drags, but since i have no real experiance at all, just wondering wats the best way to launch? I take it just one foot on brake and rev to like 3.5k then let go of brake and plant it? What would be a respectable time for a r33 s2?

Any info or help would be great :)!

without spending more money on ur gbox, stand on the brake and rev til you can feel it start to grab hold it at that position til your launch and plant it.if your after better times but have a few$$$ free, get a torque convertor for around the 4grand mark. this is where you should see maximum power eg turbo is on boost. cheers

You actually dont want the stally to flare past max power as this will destroy the gearbox fairly quickly, if boost comes on there is also no vacume assist for the brakes making the car very hard to hold on the line.

A torque converter for arounf 4k huh? That's big mate!

you wont get 3.5k out of ur car i dont think, the converter should try to lock up well before then. never thought about 33's, but dont most factory cars start to lock at about 2k? oh, and buy a transmission cooler... a good one
