Hey guys,

Got a problem with the old '32 GTS-4. Occasionally after going up a gear (in any gear) the car will shift as normal, however on the odd occasion moments after I've shifted the car gets stuck in terms of engine revs, as if the clutch isn't 'biting'. This is then followed by a sudden 'bite' once again and the revs pick up as normal. Being a noob at cars, all I can say is that it feels like my clutch is going silly on me, as if it doesn't know whether or not it should 'bite'. The clutch pedal feels perfectly fine (I can feel the friction point as normal), it's just like suddenly driving with a dead accelerator pedal for a moment when that 'biting' on and off occurs. It was something I ignored for a week or two till it happened to me on the freeway :D Quite freaky. Is it transmission/clutch/diff? I don't have a clue. Any suggestions on what it could be would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Gerard.

if the clutch was slipping the revs would go up ie flare, not stay constant so it's unlikely to be that. is it a hesitation in the engine that you are describing?

Hmm... yeah come to think about it you're right. Yeah its like a hesitation followed by sudden response again. And it feels like the diff at the back stops and then starts again.
