Again sorry for asking but i have noticed that my R32 GTR has what i thought to be QF45 AFM installed on it.

I thought that the part number for these is A36-000-P60.

When i checked mine it had a part number of A36-000-J60 are these suitable for my car as i have no idea if this could be effecting Air fuel ratio's.

regards

post-28646-1150341290.jpgThat is a good question!

Yes it runs fine but i know these were just put on when i got the car. I think i will just be safe and will get the air / fuel ratio checked later this month as i am still waiting for my 320kmh speedo to show up before i run it again.

Are they the correct type to be running? or should i just get other as i dont know if these units are speced to operate in the correct voltage range and it is worrying the crap outta me that they are wrong for the car.

yep, that's an rb20det afm

it's not the correct type of afm, to run it properly, the ecu needs to be remapped. If the car runs fine with no noticable problems, then it probably has been remapped or has a piggyback ecu of some description (eg. SAFC, emanage etc.), or full aftermarket computer.

get it on the dyno asap to check your AFR's (it's a good idea anyway once you buy a car to check afr's), but if it's running without any noticable problems then you are probably ok.

how is it set up with the single afm? are there still 2 intakes and one afm on one of the intakes and no afm on the other? or do you have a single intake system setup? or do you have 2 x rb20det afms?

rb20det afm's are better than rb26dett afm, so it's probably been done to allow for better piping.

Merlin,

thanks for the help i really do need it.

No is has 2 of the buggers still in the orginal positions i would hazard a guess.

The car pulls like a train and to date it has not given me any problems that i know of. But as you say i will try and get the air / fuel ratio checked which is not easy to do over here as no one knows much about these type of cars. Would be heaven if i could get Pfc and have it tuned but its not to be in this part of the world.

The ECU looks like its standard to me but the seals have been opened .

getting A/F ratio checked shouldn't be too much trouble. Just go to anywhere with a dyno and ask for a "power run with AFR printout". They will put a wideband o2 sensor in the exhaust and log the AFR while doing the power run.

I'd say it's been remapped. If they handn't, you'd probably feel it driving, if the car would even start at all. Maybe ask the previous owner what he did?

This is probably good! it means your car probably have a tuned ecu, and rb20det afm's are much better than rb26dett afm's

but in any case, unless you can find out from previous owner, go get a dyno run asap.

Merlin,

I will make that the first this i do when i get to install the new speedo.

I have no chance of tracking down the old owner as it was brought from a huge import yard, about 10,000 cars there. But now that is mention it run like crap for the first few hours but came good after that. Could that be a piggy back ECU in learning mode, as i know these AFM were installed after i showed interest in it. Could i be that lucky to re istall the RB20 AFM if it was mapped for them ?

Nissan OEM Airflow Wiring Diagrams;

covers the common models and sizes and wiring

if someone can kindly send me a gtr rb26 afm ill post it up (need pic and wiring/pinouts)

Nope they are green and 80mm id so i reckon they wil be from RB 20. Which is ok just a long as they are calibrated to run on a 5 v signal. I will then have the air / fuel ratio checked ( hopefully ).

just a question i noticed their was a K band trim on the ECU would i be right in saying this is for adjusting the fuel.
