Taso84
Well after a short month of happy ownership i am sorry to say that due to an unfortunate incident involving a person who decided to run a red light, i am now no longer the proud owner of my Skyline. at about 9am this morning her life was taken from her in a cruel and brutal way.As i was waiting in the intersections of Burke and Canterbury Rds to turn right, the light changed and i moved off. lo and behold the 'gentleman' in question broke the oncoming RED light and slammed straight into my passenger side, wiping it out from A to C pillar and going so far as to buckle the entire substructure and the roof. it was good while it lasted. R.I.P. 1990 Nissan Skyline R32 GTS-t Type-M. Were u waiting in the middle of the intersection to turn right when the lights go orange, or were u behind a red light and then started driving when the light went green? Paradizzle
I know of someone who went through when it was orange, they t boned the person turning. The person turning claimed that the person going straight ran a red light. Insurance claim went on for around 2 weeks, Police said that both were to blame and could not find a person at fault. The person who turned had to pay excess for both repairs, the insurance companies decided that it was the turning persons fault as the turning person must always give way.... I hope the other guy has to payout becuase he clearly ran a red and you have witnesses!! good luck mate. BL01
The police might say they have the right of the way as they are going straight. However, since he ran a red, he broke a traffic offence. Be sure to get witnesses before anything. Sad to hear another skyline goes to waste. YES! Taxi drivers always do that! Taxi drivers always do that! 1) Its very hard to prove that some1 ran a red light 2) If they ran a red then you must have too 3) Turner must always give way no matter what, its in the road laws Edited June 16, 2006 by Taso84 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/122386-the-dream-is-over/page/2/#findComment-2263439 Share on other sites
Anarkei
1) Its very hard to prove that some1 ran a red light2) If they ran a red then you must have too 3) Turner must always give way no matter what, its in the road laws to clear it up for you, waiting IN the intersection to turn right, the light went red, thus the road laws state i have to clear the intersection. i don't sit in the middle of the intersection and block oncoming traffic. and how would i have run a red? if i'm already in the intersection waiting to turn BEFORE the light went red i'm in the clear to progress when there is a gap or the light changes. fortunately i have a witness who can testify that the guy ran a red light and hit me. i get what you are trying to say, but in this instance the faults on the other party.
