What a top day!!

Had a ball, loved the track. After struggling in the morning I got the hang of it in the dry by the afternoon.

Congrats on the PB's of the day, and a big congrats to Chris who ran a 35 on the day, top effort mate!

Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out too, much appreciated.

From what looked like was going to be a wet day, it stopped raining mid morning which gave enough time for the track to dry up by lunch time...

There was plenty of drifto action in the morning sessions but times started to drop considerably in the afternoon...

Was my first time at Winton, had a great time untill my car started to sound like a tractor, looks like the frontpipe to turbo studs have streched, allowing exhaust gasses to escape through the engine bay rather than out the exhaust..

Didn't get to do the last two sessions, was convinced a 1:35 was there!!!

Ohwell, as they say, THAT'S RACING!!

Well done to all the guys out there with PB's, Chris (Scotsman) was driving very hard and reeled off an impressive 1:35.5, and the rwd boys did quite well!! Dane, Ray and Matt posted some great times...

Big thanks to Bec, Matt (Mavric), Ryan and Ash in officiating/flagging, without people like you these days won't run as smooth as they do...

Highlight would have to be watching ferni's brakes glowing with sparks flying, having no brakes going in to turn 1, car spun off the track heading towards the wall....

haha if you're doing more mods, then so am I!! :D

You got me by .08 seconds... I thought I had it... drats!! haha

Thanks for the compliments man, you should be pretty happy yourself. Us SR boys have to show these skylines/rexes what a real car is!

It's a shame we couldn't line up in the super sprints, would have been a blast. Oh well, there's always next time.

Really happy with how the car went aswell, considering it hasn't had a wheel alignment since 2004, seems to be handling alright, and it's still in one piece, so I'm happy.

:(

Congrat's on the time Ferni. I have someone to chase now!!

I suffered a split intercooler hose during the second timed session - so the 36 will have to wait for another day. I'm glad it didn't foul the plugs and I could drive home - as Jack was sort of.......fully booked :D

Cheers

Thanks mate, but if your aiming for a 36 then it will be me chasing you. I may have been able to get a high 37 if i got a consistent lap in, but no way would i of got a 36 with my brakes hah. First time out on semi slicks as well.

Can't really afford 5k for a new big brake kit so i'm kind of in no mans land at the moment. Chris thinks I can still get away with standard brakes with the right setup, so may have to give that a go.
