Air conditioner? Stereo ? Come on Aaron, man up. I refuse to use air conditioning because its contributes to global warming. Dont need a radio either as all those high frequencies in the atmosphere are making the birds sterile! ts fries their poor little balls you know. :)

So i understand why ppl might not use them so consider removing the. Its a social stand it is! :)

LOL , you're a funny dude.

Hey, if we are going to Sydney, we may as well create a heap of state rivalry and animosity.

Well im a ring in Victorian, grew up in Sydney :)

Just be warned about Boosted Zed. He has been known to get so peppered on "V" drinks that he make the Great Cornholio look sedated. In that state you dont know what he will do to you guys.. :)

Plus, NSW hands on out gun licences like Vic Police hand out defects and parking fines.

Roy is an infiltrator from Sydney. No anomosity, rivalry maybe.

Re SAm's GTR doing a 1 min 15 if this is right from what I can see from searching Antsoft this is very impressive.

Have you guys had trouble with timing down theer as the Super Sprints up here ar usually timed with a beam or marker and humans and often worng. We had one of our zed track guys timed 4 seconds a lap

faster than what he actually did. This was obvious though as way faster than his average for the day.

See this VK Commodore in link directly below they had him doing a 46.17 yet his second fastest was ahigh 48 second. He never did less than 48 sec ever I don't think. I mentioned this to them but they did not change, to late and too messy I guess and not sheep stations they say. I am in it for sheep stations though.

John Boston a driving instructor did a 1 min 7.7 in my zed back in 2003 when it had a stock motor and turbo's, no aero, front brakes ony and lot's heavier. I was doing 1 min 9's. I wonder what he would do in it now.

That GT3 is only running 1.38 at winton..... even i did that and i can't drive.

Chris did a 1.35 in his stockish GTR at winton... stock engine/turbos, nothing super special except for the driver.

Think JFK another of racepace customers did a 1.33 stockish GTR/engine/turbos at winton....

1.15 has been done by Sam in his stripped 32GTR, and by Ben in his non stripped street driven R33GTR around sandown, pretty sure they have done those times on more than one occaision, and match thier other average times so doubt it would be a timing error.....

Here are the results of this years Sandown Maserati Day. Note the time for one S. Markov >_<

Impressive time it appears working it out and comparing to V8 Supercars only 5 seconds slower. Also again very impressive line up of cars unlike Sydney.

Yes I like the Zed pics for others to see. Can't wait to play with your guys in the Sydney sand pits.

But you have no idea what was done to that GT3, street tyres? Can the guy bring himslef to drive his coinage that hard???

And your car has Ohlins, semi slicks and built engine with what 300rwkws? Even if the Porka was getting driven hard of course you would be quicker.

As for Scotsmans times...they are bloody good. No doubt. Im guessing his semis were brand new, because thats a bit better then his last efforts, even allowing for the usual .5seconds you get each time back

If those times of Sam Markovs were from the day i was watching he had problems that day, i understand he ended up killing it that day

Its always difficult looking at lap times if you didnt see the runs, im guessing Sam can go considerably quicker given no trouble. And then when someone gets out and says there is more in it there is always scepticism. I still say i can do a 1:23 at Sandown :D So if a pretty basically modded R32 GTSt with an RB20 can do it, i sure as shit hope a basically and smartly modded GTR is at least a second quicker...if not, whats all the fuss about. :D

Geez they cheat with awd, extra turbo and 600cc and thats the best they can do? >_< Wait to they cross the border, its well documented what happens to big hp GTRs when they get close to the equator.

Three letters that have NSW GTR owners scared senseless ...SBS!

    • Is there a diameter difference in the stock to Nismo? If so, the weight alone won't be indicative when comparing flywheels of the same diameter, since the radius of the flywheel acts on the moment of inertia with a square factor, where as mass is linear. Roughly going from a 4.5kg flywheel with radius 20cm, to a 9kg flywheel with radius 14cm would see them act the same. This calc is just here to act as a brief numbers comparison and reflects no actual RB flywheel diameters etc. it also assumes even weight distribution (thickness) throughout.
    • It seems this could be due to a restructure/team direction change... Or... You're working with a different category of vehicle... Or you've decided you'd rather be able to play with your own cars again...   I'm hoping the latter...
    • had 4 weeks off over xmas and well did some stuff to the shed and BRZ, well short of is I don't work full time in supercars anymore as of yesterday.........
    • Did you get any down time over Christmas, or have you had any since to play with this? Or have you given up and are trying to get yourself a second hand V8SC instead?
    • A random thought I had just before I hit "Submit on this post". If brake fluid, in a container in my garage that has never been opened goes bad after 18 months, why can I leave it in my car for 24 months in an "unsealed container"... Secondly, some other digging, and brake fluid manufacturers seem to be saying 5 year shelf life... Me thinks there line on 18 months for an unsealed bottle is pretty much horse shit marketing spin. Kind of like how if you drive a car and don't run a turbo timer your turbo and motor will die horribly...   Where I started on this though... Someone (me) started down a bit of a rabbit hole, I don't quite have the proper equipment to do Equilibrium Reflux boiling per the proper test standards. I did a little digging on YouTube, and this was the first video I found on someone attempting to "just boil it". This video isn't overly scientific, as we don't have a known reference for his test either. Inaccuracy in his equipment could have him reaching the 460 to 470f boiling point range in reality. In the video, using a laser temp gun, he claims his Dot3 that's been open in his florida garage for over a year gets to about 420 to 430 fahrenheit (215 to 221c) Doing some googling, I located an MSDS for that specific oil, and from new, it claims a dry boiling point of 460 to 470f. Unfortunately they don't list a wet boiling point for us to see how far it degraded toward its "wet" point. While watching it I was thinking "I wonder what the flash point is..." turns out its only 480f for that specific brake fluid....   As for testing the oil's resistance, I might not be able to accurately do that unfortunately. Resistance level will be quite a LOT higher than my system can read I suspect based on some research. However, I might be able to do it by measuring the current when I apply a specific voltage. I won't have an actual water % value, but I'll have some values I can compare between the multitude of fluids. I'll run some vague calculations later and see if I should be able to read any reliable amount of current. These calcs will be based on some values I've found for other oils, and see how close I'll need my terminals together. From memory I can get down to 1pA accuracy on the DMM. I don't think my IOT Power Tester has any better resolution.
