I have 18x9.5 or 18x10 inch rims (im not sure of there exact width, i measured it with a tape, and it depends wether i measure to the lip or the entire rim)

I currentley have 265/35 tyres. What is the max width i could go on a 9.5inch rim and a 10inch rim?

Cheers.

You measure the width of the rim from the inner lips of the rim.

cos the outter lip can vary in width and shape it is never acurate to measure form the outter lips, always form the inner of the lips on a rim.

by the books. a 10" rim is normally good for about a 300/12" tyre, i think thats about the maximum recommended size. Ill let you know if we fit our new 290mm dunlop slicks onto our 9.5" rims. Could be a little awkward, but should be ok.

The maximum width for a rim size is actually dependent on the tyre and its construction. A good manufacturer will post the minimum and maximum rim widths on their web site.

Falken seems to recommend no smaller than a 245 for their 9.5" rim, and no wider than a 285, regardless of the tyre.
