Rb20 Or 25 Throttle Position

ive seen it done, people cut off there throttle body from pointin over the rocker cover and weld it sitting at the front like an SR20 ..

just wondering if anyone has anything to say about this? has anyone done this and had bad or good results?.. looking for like a pro's/con's sorta thing here..

you mean a dodgy cut-n-shut of the T/B to the front of the stock plenum?

whys that but?.. wouldnt u get a more direct flow of air from the cooler, n produce like less lag n more responsiveness??..

one of those plenums off the engine jus looks like a big open space so u wouldnt think it would be harmful..

because the intake was designed to have the T/B in the middle not the front.

there is far more to it, but im keeping it basic

you want a front facing, purchase a front facing one thats designed for it

you risk running lean on cyl 3 and 4.

Really not a good Idea. I have seen an RB20 die with a cut n shut plenum.

the aftermarket plenums have the throttle body at an angle. if you do it straight on you will end up with first and 2nd cylinders not getting enough air and leaning right out, which equals melt down.

I'm not so sure about that.

If you are developing over 300rwkw then the standard top half to the intake manifold needs reworking. Below 300 rwkw leave it alone.
