Fats I remember your car at the old workshop in Yennora, very heavy metal flakes on that paint came out very nice.

aquariuz6 he can do any repairs mate, he has a very good panel beater now, bring your car in for a quote.

ShaneF, I recently had my R32 resprayed from grey to black. Realy depends how good of a finish you want. He can do it cheap and it wil still look good, or he can do a better finish for a little more and then there's show car finish which he pretty much spends a whole day to just paint your car and then waits a week then rub back and flow coat it. So pretty much he has a finish for all budgets.

This is some pics of my car of what he calls a medium finish not quite show finish as its my everyday driver. This is straight from the gun, unbuffed or polished.

man thats shit hot!! Think i might have to have a chat to this guy. My car is in SERIOUS need of a full respray...

dont want to burst your bubble, but it dosnt matter if you used crap paint/good paint, all paint straight out the booth outside in the sun looks sexy, the quality of work/materials used only really shows up months down the track, if it looks that good still, or is borked to crap :whistling:

I'm guessing you havent witness many painters work then. Most of them come out of the booth lumpy, saggy, uneven, orange peel etc. It's only after they chop and buff the crap out of it before they start looking even. If you dont think the quality of work wont show up straight away or within a couple of weeks (curing time) then you're kidding yourself or dont know what to look for.

The materials do matter, but you dont have to have the most expensive to achieve a good finish. When I was talking about prices of finishes I was more referring to the extra time taken for prep work and spraying time rather then materials. All though he does use different clear coats for show finishes. Actually Louie specialises in making his own colours using his prefered brands of paint rather then charging the customers the high prices of eg House Of Colours paints, this is why he is so affordable

Wow... thats looks nice.

How much did it cost you for that job? if you dont mind me asking?

We got the 350 back from Louie today and we are very happy with the job. And also the price he charged to respray the front bar :glare:

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to get the front bar resprayed?

Mine's not too bad, but has a few too many stone chips for my liking, so I'd consider getting it resprayed if it's not overly expensive (might even get my g/f's front bar done also).

Thanks

It was under 500 to respray front bar and repair and paint a scrape on the rear quarter, not sure if that was a special SAU price but it seemed pretty damn good to me :D
