see in first pic, bottom left, you can see the edge of a chip underneath that circuit board. That's the rom chip (28 pin rom), if that is soldered onto the board, then it's a stock ecu (well probably), if it's a socket, then it's definantly a remap.

Must be a stock ECU then merlin, which if what i read and my limited brain power. Would i be right in saying the RB 25 AFM having a larger area would induce a leaner fuel mixture as the ECU would be mapped for the smaller GTR items.

Therefore with a standard ECU and their rich mapping it should be a some where in the ball park, again it needs to be checked if i ever get the F%$#ing speedo 6 weeks now sinse ordering.

ok...

^ this is stock ecu (actually this is rb20det, but they are both similar) with the top board removed.

the chip circled in red is the ROM, if the rom is soldered to the board, then it is a stock chip. (mine stock ecu chip has MEC-R126 8RY108 written on a silver sticker on it). If your chip is in a socket, then it is rechipped. Often re-chips will also have a sticker with a tuning shop on them.

Nope thinking it is a stocker chip

Part number is MEC R282A 8RX1D-04 on the chip that is.

By the way have you seen one of these items as i wonder if it would be ok for me if i installed a Pfc then i could do my own tuning as there is just no one here set up to do this.

Yeah, the Blitz ECU's have the chip in a 'bay' with a hinge, so it can be easily removed and reconnected. This allows you to cycle through different spec chips, or reprogram the chip and reinsert.

I would say that ECU is stock, and I'm not sure about the possibility of modifying an ECU without changing chips.
