Small Oil Component On Rb26dett

Hi, I’m currently in the process of an rb26 build which has taken nearly three years to get to the stage I have. I was looking to install the oil cooler which also has the oil filter mount; temp and pressure sensors mount to it.

The problem I think I have is that I believe that there should be a dowel (to give it a name) that screws into the block and seals with the O ring of the on the inside of the cooler. I’m pretty sure this would send the oil into the filter.

I’m guessing this component would have been removed when the block was hot dipped.

As it has been a while since it was it the machine shop and i cant find it amongst my parts and I’m not sure if it exists, so i was hoping that somebody might be able to confirm that a part exists and might know were i may be able to source a new part.

yeh there is a dowel there, it has a notch in it so it can be removed with a screwdriver. i have one here in my old block if you need one!!!
