Was down at the local Hardware House today and discovered an isle of Engine Bay spray paints.

I found a nice colour for $10 and spent the afternoon spraying bits n pieces. (including all over my hands and finger nails LOL). I was quite happy with the result as im not a car person and never taken bits n pieces off an engine before let alone spray painted everything.

Hopefully the paint will last atleast until next weekend :( coz I quite like the look of it even if it is just myself that knows. Its often the little things that count I always say.

All up it took me around 4hrs including drying time (3 coats) to do the job. Would have been quicker if I had the correct tools grr.

I want to get braided lines next to tidy everything else up and then i'll be close to happy with the engine bay. Can anyone recommend an online store for these parts or even just for info/pricing/measurements etc?

Just some engine heat proof spray paint that was good for metal or plastics. I forget the brand but their was about 100 cans to choose from ranging from like $10-16 depending on brand and can size.

Looks good Ben. Nothin' like getting in there & having a go. Dunno' about painting the rubber intercooler hose joiner though? Go get yourself some coloured silicon boost hoses( red, yellow, blue) it's a tad costly but looks great.

A few different places.

Autobarn (in Mild End, Adelaide)

ASE

Morpowa

The latter 2 are performance workshops in Adelaide.

It comes in numerous colours, is much easier to route than standard rubber, & look ok :) Not cheap though!

4mm ID - $11 per m

6mm ID - $17 per m

8mm ID - $22 per m

Approximate prices.

GCG in Sydney stock the stuff, as would a number of places up there I'd imagine.
